    Q
I need to treat poa annua and oxalis in my Austin, TX zoysia lawn. How and when do I apply Andersons 0.48 Barricade Herbicide?
    A

Andersons 0.48 Barricade Herbicide contains a pre-emergent that needs to be applied before weeds have emerged as it is used to prevent germination.  Please contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region.

  • Asked by Bill from Georgetown, Texas

    Q
How do I set my Scott broadcast spreader to apply Andersons 0.48 Barricade Herbicide?
    A

Unfortunately we do not have the spreader settings for that specific combo and the manufacturer does not list that spreader on their bag of Andersons 0.48 Barricade Herbicide. Due to there being thousands of granules on the market and just as many different types of spreaders, you will want to calibrate your spreader to the product you are using and its application rates. You can see a short video on how to accomplish this below.

When used at the lowest rates, it starts at 4 months after application that you can overseed.

    03/14/2021
    Q
Is Anderson's 0.48 Barricade Herbicide safe for pets and kids?
Is this safe for kids and dogs? If not, how long after applying can they go on the lawn?
    A

Andersons Barricade is safe for pets and kids as long as they are not in the area during application. The granules will need to be watered in to be activated, and once the product has had time to try they are safe to re-enter the area.

  • Asked by Michael from Marietta, Ga
    02/21/2021
    Q
Is rain after The Anderson's 0.48 Barricade Herbicide application an issue?
It has been dry for the past 3 days, however rain is in the forecast off and on for the next 5 days. Should I apply now and water in ahead of the rain or wait 5 more days?
    A

Per the product label of Andersons 0.48 Barricade Herbicide, "Apply this product to dry foliage only. Overhead irrigation or rainfall soon after application will wash granules off plant foliage and activate this product in the soil." You may want to wait until there is no rain in the forecast.  Though you should water in the product ½ inch within 7 days of applying.

    Q
How long after spreading Andersons 0.46?rricade should I wait before putting down a weed and feed?
Is there a wait time in between?
    A

    Q
Does the Anderson's 0.48 Barricade Herbicide product have an expiration date?

    Q
When is the best time to apply The Anderson's 0.48 Barricade Herbicide for pre emergent control of weeds in my Southeastern Michigan lawn?
    A

The Anderson's 0.48 Barricade Herbicide should be applied in early spring and late fall for pre emergent control of weeds prior to germination. In fall to control winter weeds, pre emergents are best applied when soil temps drop to 70 degrees and continue to drop.
