    Q
    How often can I apply Andersons 24 - 5 - 11 Fertilizer?
    A

We recommend using a soil analysis test kit or taking a sample of your soil to your local cooperative extension so your soil can be analyzed to determine what nutrients your soil is lacking. The healthiest, hardiest lawns are fertilized 4 times per year, fall, summer, early spring and late spring but what’s needed can vary throughout the year.  So if the Andersons 24 - 5 - 11 Fertilizer is what your lawn needs throughout the year it could be applied up to 4 times per year as long as you do not go over the max rate stated on the label but typically you would apply during the growing seasons only and use other fertilizers other times. We actually have a great guide that can explain how to select the best fertilizer for your lawn.

    Q
Can you recommend an annual plan for using The Anderson's 24-5-11 Fertilizer on Bermuda sod in South Central Texas?
    A

We recommend using a soil analysis test kit or taking a sample of your soil to your local cooperative extension so your soil can be analyzed to determine what nutrients your soil is lacking. The healthiest, hardiest lawns are fertilized 2-4 times per year, fall, summer, early spring and late spring. We do have a general lawn care guide here for your reference.

    Q
My son just moved into a new home 2 months ago with newly burmuda sod, what fertilizer should he use?
I have used Andersons 16-4-8 on my yard with excellent results but you are out of that...could this 24-5-11 be used instead on my son's new Bermuda sod?
    A

The Andersons 24-5-11 is a great fertilizer, as are most products in the Anderson line. While either of the fertilizers you mentioned could be used, we would typically suggest something like the Andersons 18-24-12 Fertilizer since it still has a high Nitrogen content for boosting upward growth of the sod, but also a high phosphorus amount to help stimulate the root growth and help it establish to the existing soil better. You really can't go wrong with any choice but that would be our recommendation for the first treatments, then you could easily swap back to the 24-5-11.

    Q
Can The Anderson's 24-5-11 Fertilizer be used to treat pin oak with chlorosis?
A study had good results whereby 2" holes were drilled around pin oak and filled with 1/2 lb. MicroMax micronutrients, 1/2 lb. granular elemental sulfur, and about 1 lb. Oscomote 24-4-10. The last item is no longer available. Could the Andersons 24-5-11 product work as a substitute? Concerned because it appears to be designed for lawns.
    A

Andersons 24 - 5 - 11 Fertilizer is only labeled only for turf use. A better product would be Ironite Lawn and Plant Food Plus 12-10-10
