    Q
Can Celsius WG Herbicide be used on monkey or mondo grass for broadleaf and grassy weed control?
    A

Celsius WG Herbicide should not be applied to groundcovers including mondo grass. We recommend spot treating with a non-selective herbicide such as Roundup QuickPRO very carefully or manual removal of broadleaf weeds in the groundcover.

Fertilome Over the Top II is labeled to kill grassy weeds in lirope or monkey grass as well as various other ornamentals and ground covers if applied as directed on the label.

We do recommend applying pre-emergent herbicides in the future prior to weed germination and before soil temps reach 50-55 degrees.

For timing in your area, we suggest consulting with your county cooperative extension office.

    Q
Will Celsius WG Herbicide kill stickers in my St. Augustine?
    A

Celsius WG Herbicide is labeled for post-emergent applications for the eradication of field sandburs/sticker burs and is safe for St. Augustine grass. We recommend also making sure there is an adequate amount of water being applied to your turf as sometimes lack of water can cause sticker bur.

Please make sure to follow the product label for application.

    Q
Should a surfactant like Penterra be used along with Celsius WG Herbicide?
    A

Soil penetrants contain surfactants but would not replace a true surfactant that is commonly recommended on herbicide product labels. Celsius WG Herbicide should be mixed with a non ionic surfactant for best results and harder to kill weeds therefore you would want to do 2 separate applications. Apply the Soil Penetrant first, then apply Celsius WG with the non ionic surfactant as directed per the product label.

View the Celsus WG product label for more information.

    Q
Is Celsius WG Herbicide safe to spray on liriope?
    A

Celsius WG Herbicide is only labeled to be used in warm season turfgrasses, it is not safe for ornamental plantings.

Certainty Herbicide is labeled to control certain broadleaf and grassy weeds in tolerant ornamentals as stated on the product label which include monkey grass (big blue & variegated varities). A non ionic surfactant is recommended for best results.

Please review the product label for weeds controlled and application rates.

    Q
Can you mix Celsius WG Herbicide with Manor?
    A

To see if you can mix Celsius WG and Manor together you need to test prior to mixing in the tank.  Please follow these instructions on the label of the Celsius WG.  Compatibility If this product is to be tank-mixed with other products, compatibility should be tested prior to mixing. To test for compatibility, use a small container and mix a small amount (0.5 to 1 qt) of spray, combining all ingredients in the same ratio as the anticipated use. If any indications of physical incompatibility develop (precipitation, settling, changes in color), do not use this mixture for spraying. Indications of incompatibility may occur within 5-15 minutes after mixing. Read and follow the label of each tank mix product used for precautionary statements, directions for use, geographic and other restrictions.

    Q
Can Celsius be used in combination with Prodiamine preemergent?
    A

In general, it is fine to mix a pre-emergent herbicide like Prodiamine 65 WDG and a post-emergent herbicide as long as neither product label prohibits this mixture. Be sure you use the correct rates for each product. We also recommend a small jar test for compatibility before mixing a larger tank. You also will need to activate the Prodiamine with irrigation or rainfall after at least 24 hours but within 14 days of the application, per the product label.

The Celsius WG Herbicide label states the following: If this product is to be tank-mixed with other products, compatibility should be tested prior to mixing. Please be sure to review the product labels of both products for more information and complete instructions before use.

    Q
Can Celsius be used on Kentucky Blue grass in spring.
I have crab grass, nut grass, surge and other broad leaf weeds in my lawn. The lawn is in good shape but these weeds are popping up in certain areas. If possible then do I apply a good herbicide after for future prevention? Some areas more affected than others. Since I have no experience with Kentucky Blue grass I am questioning application.
    A

No, Celsius WG Herbicide is not safe to be used on Kentucky Bluegrass, it for use on warm season grasses only. You may want to consider something like Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide instead. Pre-emergents are applied in spring and fall dependingo n your area. You may consider signing up for our turf box, as it would send you pre-emergents when needed & for your lawn size to prevent some of the weeds from growing. Then in late spring/summer you can use a post-emergent to kill off the weeds that did germinate.

    Q
Will Celsius WG Herbicide kill monkey grass?
I have Florida Botany growing in all my monkey grass that borders the front flower beds and there is no way to pull the Botany up through the monkey grass.
    A

Monkey grass is kind of hard to kill once established but caution should still be taken. Unfortunately, Celsius WG Herbicide is not labeled to be safe nor to harm monkey grass and it is labeled to kill some perennial grasses. If you have it on hand, we recommend testing it in a small inconspicuous area. Please read the product label for complete application instructions.

    Q
Can I mix tank Celsius WG with pre emergent Dimension 2EW
I have dallisgrass that is growing, and would like to control it. Just wondering if I could spray a post emergent at the same time as a pre emergent, Celsius and Dimension, during the spring and fall.
    A

Yes, you can mix a pre-emergent like Dimension 2EW with Celsius WG Herbicide if the timing is correct.   We would recommend to do a tank mix test first to ensure the chemicals are compatible while in mixture. To treat for dallisgrass using Celsius you need to use in combination with REVOLVER Herbicide which is not for use by homeowners.

Unfortunately, there are not any selective post-emergent herbicides for use on dallisgrass in residential lawns. We recommend spot treating with a non-selective herbicide such as RoundUp QuikPro and then overseed any bare spots as needed. We recommend using a pre-emergent containing dithiopyr like Dimension in late winter/early spring to help prevent new dallisgrass. Dallisgrass Prevention Guide.
