    Q
Good all around insecticide for my yard
I've got a large backyard and I need an effective insecticide for the perimeter of my property. I live in Arizona, so the typical pests are crickets, spiders, roaches, ants, and scorpions. I currently use CyKick around the perimeter of my home and have had great results. Do to the size of the area my trying to cover, using a pump sprayer would take all day. Ideally I'd like to use the insecticide in a hose end type of application. Can you recommend a cost effective product that satisfies these requirements?
    A
We would recommend using Cyonara 9.7 which is used at roughly 1/2 ounce per gallon of water which should be an option or setting on the dial of your hose end sprayer. The Cyonara is microencapsulated like the Cy Kick you have been using so it will hold up well to the outdoor elements in your area in Arizona and will cover a broad range of pest in and around the home and lawn. It is very cost effective in both the 8oz and 32oz sizes.

    Q
Can I apply Cyonara 9.7 with a yard sprayer (attached to the hose with the product in the tank)?
In reading the instructions it mentions tank mixing the product. Can I use my sprayer, which has the proper product to water ratio in the dial (it's an Ortho sprayer)? I would rather not use a hand tank sprayer as I have a large yard. Thanks for your help!
    A
Cyonara 9.7 can be used in a hose end sprayer that can be calibrated to spray the usage rate that fits your needs.

    Q
    Does Cyonara 9.7 kill termites?
    A
The Cyonara 9.7 would kill termites that you spray directly with the product, however if you have a current infestation of either drywood or subterranean termites, you would need to use an appropriate termite treatment product. Termidor is the top product for treating the soil around your home to eliminate any current termites infesting the home, but also for protecting it from any future infestations for at least the next 10 years. For drywood termites, you could open the wall and treat the studs and supporting structural wood with a product like Boracare, which will last for the life of the wood; or drill a hole where the activity is present and inject a foam like Termidor Foam or Premise Foam to expand and eliminate the termites in the galleries. Please let us know if you have any other questions. You can review our article How To Do A Termite Treatment for directions for protecting your home yourself.

    Q
How safe is Cyonara on exterior vinyl siding - I live in the country and want to control spiders?
spider webs that collect on the house in the summer. Will it leave a residue that would stain the siding? This would be used in our 2nd home in Canada.
    A
Cyonara is a water based product and should not stain any surface that water itself would not stain. Having said that we always recommend you test old siding or old paint for staining before spraying the entire surface.

    Q
Does Cyonara 9.7 work on fleas inside the house?
    If not, then what does?
    A

Cyonara 9.7 could be used for outdoor flea control, although it is not labeled for broadcasting indoors or for indoor flea control. Our Indoor Flea Kit would be the best choice for treating fleas inside. Please see our Flea Treatment Guide for more information about flea control.

    Q
Does Cyonara 9.7 have an expiration date?
I bought a bottle a year ago and had great results. I used it 3 more times over the year (in and out) and just did my last application a week ago (indoors only). Still have spiders everywhere inside. Does the product become weaker over time, or was my mistake not also spraying the outside? Is there anything else you'd recommend for common house spiders?
    A
Cyonara 9.7 should be stored away from extreme temperatures. The product will last up to 3 years from the date of purchase. If mixed, you should discard the portion of the solution that was not used after 24 hours of being mixed. For spider control, you can mix 12-24ml per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. Treat indoor cracks and crevices every three months and on the exterior of the home monthly. Treat all entry points into the home. It is also helpful to use glue boards inside the home to trap spiders.

    Q
How many ounces of Cyonara concentrate should be added to the hose end sprayer for lawns - Chinch bugs/fleas
    A

Cyonara 9.7 rates vary for each of these pests per the product label.  For chinch bugs you would use at the rate of 14 ml per 1000 sqft in 4 - 10 gals. of water per 1,000 sq. ft.  The use of a nonionic wetting agent, penetrant or similar adjuvant is strongly recommended following label rates. Use the highest water application rates possible with your sprayer. Apply CYONARA 9.7 to turf wet with dew, rain or irrigation. Water in immediately after application with ¼ - ½ inch of water for optimum results.  For fleas you would use 0.4 ml per gallon of water. For best results, apply CYONARA 9.7 at recommended rates in 2 - 5 gals. of water per 1,000 sq. ft

    Q
    Does Cyonara 9.7 kill Springtales?
    A
Cyonara 9.7 does not list springtails on the product label.

A presence of springtails means there is usually a moisture issue under the house or around the house.  Springtail eradication depends on eliminating the moisture source.  If the springtails are breeding from under the slab, then the granules around the outside of the house will not effect them and they will be able to get into the house.  It is imperative to correct any moisture issues or water that puddles up against the house.  You could use Bifen IT inside and on the house outside for some extra killing power in addition to the granules.

Typically, pesticides alone will not take care of a springtail problem.  It is required to fix whatever moisture issue is causing the problem.  You should read our "How To Get Rid of Springtails" article for further information
