I live in Alamo, California and I have a large yard with lots of fruit trees and a small vineyard. I bought some Deer Scram last year that seemed to work. Then earlier this year, a mother deer gave birth to four baby deers in my next-door neighbor's yard, and they really make this place their home. The baby deers grew more voracious every day, so I bought this big jar of Deer Scram to protect my young fruit trees. But the deers keep devouring everything that I planted. I think a strong fence is the only sure defense against deers. You are only trying your luck with non-fence methods such as smell (I have also tried other deer repellants that smells so bad that repels human but does nothing to deers. In this regard, Deer Scram is still one of the best out there), taste, or sound, and use only when a fence is not possible. Good luck!

Maybe It Works. Or Maybe it Doesn't
By Karen on 08/17/2020
I put this product down around the perimeter of my yard per instructions. I didn't see any deer for 2 1/2 weeks. After that, there was a gentle rain; and I immediately had a large doe in my yard. I am going to put down another application the first of September to see if it helps with the rutting season. I will re-evaluate my review of the product. (Note: Dogs find the scent irresistible. )

Deer Repellant
By Robert on 07/10/2020
According to direction this 25lbs will treat approximately 1440 linear feet with the recommended 8" wide scoop application around the flower bed. Also says it will last about 30 days, even with rain. Upon first applying the repellant, the smell is very evident but fades just days after application. Within a week or two, it seems like the deer ignore it and just eat flowers, hosta and anything else. I even apply it directly to the leaves which seems to help because they would have to eat it along with the plant. Best repellant for deer is a hunter.

Missing Scoop
By William on 10/12/2020
I think the product is working. So far I have only applied one application. My issue is that the stated scoop you can use to help determine the spread amount was missing from the can. I have called 3 times and each time they were reaching out to distributor to send one to me. 4 weeks later I am still waiting and using a measuring cup.

Time will tell
By Ken on 05/18/2019
We've had a wet spring so I don't know how effective this product is. I made anothet application today and we will have few dry days. I measure success or failure by how much deer poop is on my lawn. After my spring clean up (a lot!) It seems to be less. Maybe the deer have other dining opportunities?
