My lawn was awful. I ordered this stuff and probably didn't follow directions but have a nice lawn on the side I used it on. This work was in late May (2020). 1) I raked to a one or two inch depth and scattered the fertilizer. Wet it good. And then we had some rain for a day or two (not a soaking rain). 2) About a week later, noticed new grass growth where there never was any. 3) Scattered next 5 Star Fescue Grass Seed Blend and watered every day for 7 or so days. It is end of June here in South Jersey and the side of the lawn I worked on looks great.

I have pretty high phosphorus levels in my soil already so I didn't need a very high phosphorus starter fertilizer. This worked well. My kentucky bluegrass came in nicely in a little over two weeks.

I recently over seeded part of my lawn and newly seeded another part. I used Ferilome fertilizer on the newly seeded area and a different fertilizer for the over seeded area. The newly seeded area, with the Fertilome, grew amazingly well. I'm guessing it it improved the initial sprouting of the new seed by 2-3 days. The high phosphorus content is great for new seed. Apply it per the instructions on the bag and you won't be disappointed.

I use only Fertilome fertilizers. They make my grass a beautiful green and work for a long time.
