Gentrol IGR Concentrate can be applied by itself in one gallon of water or tank mixed with other liquid insecticide concentrates in a one-gallon pump sprayer. Gentrol IGR Concentrate is an Insect Growth Regulator. It is not labeled for rodents. For rodents inside, it is best to use snap traps and glueboards so you can control where they are going to die. You should also seal up all cracks and crevices where rodents may be able to enter the structure. Tamper-resistant bait stations with a rodenticide outside would also help if they are coming and going. We have some guides here that can help as well:
Apply Gentrol IGR to areas of fly breeding as directed only. For drains, apply into and around the downspout and catch basin area. Coat these areas thoroughly as fly larvae develop in the scum buildup on the side of drain pipes. Repeat applications at 2 to 4 week intervals depending upon the severity of infestation. For more information on treating drain flies, please read our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Drain Flies.
You can dispose of any excess Gentrol IGR mixture by either pouring it directly into the soil next to the foundation of the home, and flushing that soil with clean water as you rinse the sprayer after use; or you can take it to your county’s local chemical waste disposal location.
Gentrol IGR Concentrate is labeled to treat for Drain Flies however will not kill exisiting drain flies. IGR’s only stop the immature stages of the insect from maturing into adults and reproducing. Coat these areas thoroughly as fly larvae develop in the scum buildup on the sides of drain pipes. Repeat applications at 2 to 4 week intervals depending upon the severity of infestation.
