It is highly recommended to also use Advance 375A Ant Granular Bait which is a protein bait. You should always give ants a choice as they may be in the mood for either a protein (granule) or a sugar (gel) bait.
Ants and pest control professionals alike love Gourmet Ant Bait Gel with 6% DOT (Disodium octaborate tetrahydrate). Gourmet Ant Bait Gel uses a special insect attractant that mimics honeydew and enhances bait acceptance by a variety of Protein Feeding Ants, Sweet Feeding Ants, and roaches. Gourmet Ant Bait Gel is less repellent than other products and far more effective at eliminating both the workers and queens in active ant colonies. Use Gourmet Ant Bait Gel indoors in cracks and crevices to quickly eliminate foragers. Gourmet Ant Bait Gel is odorless, won't stain surfaces or leave a mess, and stays where it is placed without becoming runny in even the hottest of temperatures. How Gourmet Ant Bait Gel Works:
When strategically placed in areas of infestation or noticeable ant traffic, the sweet honeydew attractant in Gourmet Ant Bait Gel draws insects to forage. Once ingested, the active ingredient DOT begins its attack on the ant’s central nervous system. This attack is slow so that poisoned ants will return to their nests after consuming Gourmet Ant Bait Gel and will feed their young and the queen, passing along the DOT poisoning. When other food sources are removed, ants will continue feeding on Gourmet Ant Bait Gel until they die.
To Use Gourmet Ant Bait Gel:
Indoor Treatment:
Use Gourmet Ant Bait Gel for the control of ants or German Cockroaches. Make long thin lines in areas where ants are a problem. Use 1-3 lines for each placement. Long thin lines allow room for many ants to feed on the bait at a single feeding. Place Gourmet Ant Bait Gel where ants are trailing or have been seen. Place Gourmet Ant Bait Gel under food cabinets, sinks, stoves, refrigerators, food storage areas, attics, garages, basements, storage areas, closets, etc. If you are not sure where the areas of highest forage are, you may use smaller pea-sized placements. Check these smaller placements every couple of days. The placements that are fed upon regularly will shrink or disappear, indicating that you should use a larger quantity of bait in these areas.
Outdoor Treatment: Place Gourmet Ant Bait Gel on exterior window-sills and in doorways to help prevent entry.
Bait Stations:
For long term control or for heavy infestations, Gourmet Ant Bait Gel may be used in Ant Café or other similar bait stations. Using a bait station allows for placement of a large amount of gel without having it dry out. To use Ant Café bait station; open the lid, add Gourmet Ant Bait Gel until station is at least half full, close lid and place according to directions for use.
Fatal Attraction
By Wh on 06/30/2010
We started seeing little black ants in our kitchen--they weren't taking over the place, but they'd clearly found our countertops. We purchased some ant traps from the store, which the ants ignored. A lot of sources suggest a two-component approach to cover grease or sugar-feeding cycles. Since our problem was not severe, and GABG claims to cover both cycles, I decided to try a tube. DoMyOwnPestControl provided prompt delivery, and I applied as directed. It didn't take long at all for the little boogers to find it, and they fed on it for several days. Within a week--no more ants. I'm very pleased with the results of GABG, as well as the site and service of DMOPC.

Ants very attracted to this!

I ordered one tube of Gourmet Ant Bait Gel just to try it out and I can not believe how the ants are attracted to this! It almost worried me the first day, as it appeared to be increased activity but it was really just the attraction to the bait. I can't wait to stop using this stuff! Thanks!

How long should you wait before cleaning it up? A few days?
If the gel is still wet then you can clean it up using a damp paper towel. If the gel has hardened, then a butter knife or something to scrape up most of it and then use a wet paper towel to get up the residual left on the surface.

I just ordered two Gourmet Ant Bait Gel tubes from you, and the carpenter ants are completely ignoring it. Just 2-3 weeks ago, they would eat this bait as soon as I put it down. I got rid of them. I found some more carpenter ants in a different area, and now they wont eat this bait. What can I do?

I have the remainder of the Gourmet Ant Bait Gel I used awhile back and can't remember how to use it. The ants are on my kitchen counter. Do I apply it in ribbons in the cracks between the counter space and back splash? Also, I have 2 small dogs. Just keep it away from them, correct? Your prompt response is most appreciated.
