Fungus Subsided

Every year my lawn looks fabulous until the beginning of June. Then it is hit with Red Thread, Dollar Spot and Fusarium, and it's down hill from there. I have used granular and liquid fungicides purchased at Lowes and Depot. Never looks good until next Spring. Out of the blue, after looking online I called DoMyOwn.com to see what they might have. Looking at all the fungicides was confusing. So I called and asked for a fungus expert. Shelly began asking questions about my location, soil and what I had been using. She explained about many different types fungicides and the Frac Codes, that I had never heard of. She recommended Heritage G. Ordered it and it arrived in about 4 days. I applied it as directed and within a week I thought I saw an improvement. By 2 weeks it definitely looked better. As directed a second application was then applied. At 3 weeks the lawn looks like Spring time again. This week I called again and asked about fertilizers. They would not say which fertilizer without having a soil analysis to determine what is actually needed. They directed me to Cornell coop in New York. Contacted Dairy One, located in Ithaca, NY who does a complete analysis at a reasonable price. Sampled my front and back lawns with 20 specimens. Now I am waiting for the results. DoMyOwn is a fabulous company that really knows how to evaluate a problem and to make excellent suggestions on how to correct the situation. I will definitely be a repeat customer. I subscribed with these folks because I just wasn't satisfied with the local lawn services. I have received and spread pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides, fungicides and insecticides. One advantage over the locals is I can spread it at my leisure before it rains. To date all has gone well and the grass is lush and green.

Seems I do not have to switch out fungicides as it remains very effective against brown spot in follow on years here in South Carolina. It lasts 5-6 weeks after which I put down a second application. Brown spot can really sneak up on you, so I put down first application a few weeks earlier than recommended especially with the summer season seemingly coming on earlier each year. An untreated neighbor lost his entire lawn in 3 weeks to Brown Spot.

Since buying their products, my lawn is doing a lot better. My gardeners that I have had in the past could not kill my clover in my Tif-green Bermuda grass. The clover was taking over my lawn. Also, was having a problem with fungus in the lawn by the house, and I used one of their product to treat the fungus. Yesterday, we spread the lawn to keep crab grass from growing in the lawn. Our new gardener that we have spread the stuff on our lawn, and tells me that the treatments is bring back our lawn. I want to have a good lawn to honor my father, whose lawn was the best yard in the county of Mobile, Alabama. He took the county of Mobile, Alabama award when he was alive. I would love to do the same in the county of San Diego, California

I have tried a number of box store fungicides, Scott's, Black Flag, Bayer... Only the Bayer worked on my very thick grass that was suffering from fungus from the previous owner, but I didn't want the fungus (mostly brown spot) to become resistant, so I needed another fungicide type for the remainder of the season. This was just as cost effective AND shipped to my door in a quick time frame for free shipping. Well packaged (internal baffles in each bag help slow the pour speed) and very effective against the fungus in my yard. Bayer got it to stop spreading, this completely rid the yard of fungus and now I only have to worry about weeds. Be sure to follow good practices when fighting fungus, the medicine alone won't fix it. Only water early morning, don't under or over water, BAG YOUR CLIPPINGS (at least until all the fungus is gone) and cut at the appropriate height and often, don't let your grass go super long and then cut it short, shocking the grass. I will be buying this again next year for prevention, thick grass and mixed shade areas leaves my lawn prime for fungal growth, even at shorter cutting heights 2-3 times a week. I've ordered a couple times from domyown, and items have always shipped quickly and arrived quickly with not a lot of extra, useless packaging (which I appreciate).

I think it helped. I put nitrogen on at the same time. Yard is much greener. Had brown spots here and there and pretty sure that was fungal issue. Big thing is be sure and mix the fungal treatments up. Make sure and read what domyown says about fungal treatments.

Our lawn service identified a fungus throughout our lawn. They wanted almost $600.00 to treat the matter. After some online research, I contacted DoMyOwn and explained the problem. Customer service was outstanding. They made a recommendation for a product and explained the treatment. Ordering was simple and delivery was quick. The total cost was under $300.00. Easy step by step instructions make it simple to apply. Pay attention…the bag is 20 lbs so you only apply half now and half later. Make sure your spreader is clean and operable before adding Heritage G. You won't know how well this worked until the next year so don't expect immediate results - be patient.

After checking with several stores and failing to get the right kind of fungicide for our wilting dwarf mondo lawn, I found your site, ordered the 10 pound bag, and received it the next day. After the first application, the grass already started to look better, and after two weeks and a second application, the grass looks completely healed. Unfortunately, it will take much longer for the end of the lawn that was dying worse will need some replanting, but now we know how to keep it from getting so bad again.
