Hey everybody it's Heath from DoMyOwn.com. Today we're gonna talk to you about Drive XLR8. Drive XLR8 is a water-based selective post-emergent, meaning that it is very selective in what weeds it treats for, specifically on crabgrass, kiyuku grass and torpedo grass for grassy weeds and then in addition to that some broadleaf weed coverage like like clover and dollar weed.

You can apply Drive XLR8 in many different ways. You can use it in a blanket application or you can use it in a spot application, but depending on your square footage, you want to apply that over a thousand square foot. So whatever your spray rate is for that, you would still mix it at that one and a half ounces along with the appropriate amount of methylated seed oil or a non ionic surfactant.

It's gonna help disperse the weed control over the leaf so that you get better penetration and better results from that. Agitate aggressively after mixing, agitate while you're spraying as well so that the separation doesn't happen. Since it is a water-based formula, you want to make sure that you're keeping it all the same consistency throughout the spray. You want to make sure that you also irrigate the area but give it 24 hours for it to penetrate through the leaf surface before applying any water.

When tank mixing, you can't apply a pre-emergent with the mixture as well to give you extended control over weeds for a prolonged period of time. If you're planning on doing an aeration and overseeding, you do not want to apply this pre-emergent.

You can apply for most grass types, and check the label to make sure that your grass type is there, but you can apply it during before seeding or even after seeding to get control over those weeds that are listed on the label.

Drive XLR8 will be absorbed by the plant, so for these conditions we need to make sure that the plant is not under stress. We need to make sure that it's not under drought stress or temperature, stress from cold weather, chemical stress but most importantly mowing.

Mowing is very important. You want to make sure that you're not mowing the grass blades off a couple days prior to actually applying it or even a couple days after you apply it so making sure that there is enough leaf surface there for you to get good absorption from the weed control.

When applying Quinclorac, you want to make sure that the temperatures are not above 80 degrees or below 55 degrees, so that you can get the most absorption by the plant.

When using Drive XLR8, please read the label carefully, making sure that your grass type is listed and that using the proper mixing rates. It's a 64-ounce 1/2 gallon which would cover up to one acre worth of turf.
