Is Talstar P ok to mix at 3 oz per gallon of water to treat Wasps using the Chapin/Wet Dry Hose End Sprayer #6005?

Hello my bug guy suggested using telstar p at 3oz per gal. For wasp control, understanding that results are poor using this product for digger wasp I'm left with very little options. I've been using now for 3yrs and we seem to be getting ahead of them finally. Each year we have had less. I've tried other sprayers but this one has the best spray pattern.

Answer:

The Chapin Wet / Dry Hose-End Sprayer #6005 is a good product for broadcasting lawn areas when a hand pump sprayer is not available or preferred.  Talstar P is labeled for wasps but is only to be mixed at 1oz per gallon of water per the product label. Wasps need to be treating in the late evening when the wasps will be most likely in the nest resting. You will need to spray the opening of the nest directly or the burrow holes. If you have been using Talstar P for 3 years, it would be time to rotate to another insecticide. Tempo Ultra SC would be a good rotation product and works great for Wasps, Hornets, Bees, etc.
