    Q
Can Monterey B.t. RTU be used on my Meyer Lemon Tree for worm/caterpillar infestation?
    A

Monterey B.t. RTU is not labeled for citrus fruit, including lemons.

We would recommend using Natural Guard Spinosad Landscape and Garden Insecticide instead. It is labeled for use on lemons and will kill caterpillars on the tree. One bottle will treat approximately 5300 square feet.

    Q
Will Orange Oil kill BT? I am battling a fungus gnat infestation and wanted to use a multi-tiered approach.
I want to use several products to rid my home of fungus gnats. I have already applied neem oil, insecticidal soap, and placed sticky paper near soil. This is not taking care of the entire population. I just applied orange oil at 2 oz per gallon of water to all plant soils in my home and wanted to try BT as well. Will the orange oil lyse the cell wall of the beneficial BT bacteria?
    A

If you are treating edibles you will need to let them dry out for a while as one of the biggest contributors to fungus gnat population growth is over watering/too wet of soil. You may need to contact Monterey Lawn & Garden to see if orange oil would interfere with anything in their specific formulation.  If you are treating non edible plants you can try Talstar P Professional Insecticide and Gentrol IGR Concentrate to the soil to get some IGR going to stop the reproductive cycles.

    Q
How often can I spray Monterey B.t. RTU?
    A

Monterey B.t. RTU is applied when worms or caterpillars are first noticed, then repeat at five (5) to seven (7) day intervals while they are active. Apply more frequently to control heavy infestations. Apply thoroughly to top and bottom of foliage. Reapply after heavy rains.
