    Will Nuvan Strips harm photos?
    I want to bin up some old photo frames and pictures. Do the Nuvan strips adversely affect photos? Most are irreplaceable.

    Old photo frames and pictures should be fine as the Nuvan Strips are designed to not harm or leave an odor in treated items, only to release a vapor to kill the insects.     Could you use Nuvan ProStrips inside wall voids?

    The Nuvan ProStrips will last up to 4 months to listed areas only. It is not recommended to apply into wall voids.

    Can I use the Nuvan ProStrips in a mattress protector with my mattress inside and still sleep on it?
    Basically I want to put a mattress protector on my bed and put a prostrip inside it to kill the bugs for sure. And if like to put one in my box spring to kill any inside it. Are these things okay or safe to do with me still present?

    Is it safe to use Nuvan ProStrips to treat an entire attic for brown recluse spiders?

    You cannot use the Nuvan ProStrips to treat an entire room, like an attic, in a house as it is against the manufacturer's instructions as specified by the product label.

    Is it OK to use Nuvan Prostrips in a Kitchen pantry?
    I have a nasty pantry moths infestation to control and they seem to be everywhere in the cabinets storing dry food. All salvaged food is in airtight containers now, but there are larvae in many appliances and crevices of the furniture: can I use the Nuvan Prostrips for this?

    Nuvan ProStrips can be placed in a closet, however the closet would have to remain closed for at least 2 weeks.  If you will be opening the closet then it will not work because the vapor will constantly escape.  We would recommend using our pantry pest kit which has a crack and crevice aerosol tool to get around shelving and baseboards where the larvae are hiding, and it also has pheromone traps for the adults that are flying around.

    How many Nuvan ProStrips and for how long can I use for treatment of my car: it Volkswagen Golf TDI 2011.
    Should I use the tape to cover the doors or any other measure to successfully treat the bedbugs in my car?
    A
    You will need to determine how many cubic feet of space you need to treat and you will use 1 strip for every 100 cubic feet of space. The strips will need to stay sealed in the area for at least 3-4 weeks to be effective. You should make sure that the area is not tightly packed so that the vapor can move around and contact all of the space. We do not recommend that you use the Nuvan Strips as your sole protection against bedbugs. You should also use a product such as Bedlam or Sterifab to treat all of the cracks and crevices where the vapor may not be able to penetrate.     Is it safe to sleep in my room if I am using Nuvan ProStrips in the closet?
    If I have one nuvan strip in my closet and put towels under the closet door to trap the vapor in my closet, would it be okay to sleep in my room?

    Nuvan ProStrips can be placed in a closet, however the closet would have to remain closed for at least 2 weeks.  If you will be opening the closet then it will not work because the vapor will constantly escape.  You would be better off placing the items in your closet you would like to treat in a plastic container or bag and placing the strip inside also, and leave it unopened for 2 weeks.

    Can Nuvan strips be used inside a breatheable cloth clothes storage bag?

    Nuvan ProStrips would not be recommended to be used in this type of bag since it is not completely sealed and the vapors could escape.

    Can I use Nuvan ProStrips in a bag with clothing?
    A

    You can bag clothes with a nuvan strip .  However, it is worth mentioning that even without placing your clothes in a bag with a nuvan stip for 2 to 4 weeks, anything that will go in a dryer for about 15 minutes on even low heat will kill all stages of bed bugs instantly.  So if you are going to wash them anyway and you didn't want to wait for 2 weeks before wearing something, you could wash and dry it and be assured there were no bed bugs when it came out of the dryer.

    Can we use several Nuvan strips in a moving truck to kill bed bugs on a cross country move?
    We are moving from FL to TX which will be a 2 day drive & our sofa is infested. We will be leaving mattresses behind because we don't want to bring the bed bugs with us, but we just bought our sofa a year ago & hope to save it. The infestation is mostly in the sofa and we've seen a few in our son's room (leaving his mattress). With the move we don't have the money to treat the house before we go so we were wondering if we can pack all our belongings in a moving truck & use several Nuvan strips in there during the trip. Would that be enough exposure to kill them and would it even be safe to drive in the front of the moving truck?

    No, we would not recommend using Nuvan Pro Strips in a vehicle or moving truck that will you and the individuals in your family will come in direct contact with. A  better option would be to use something like SteriFab on the furniture and in the home once you get to your destination.

    Can we place items that cannot be washed or heated into a garbage bag with Nuvan ProStrips for bed bug control?

    Yes, you can place items into bags with Nuvan ProStrips for bed bug control.  Be sure to pack the items loosely in the bags so that the vapors can circulate. You do not want to pack the bags too full. You will need to leave the items sealed in the bags for at least 2 weeks.

    Why do items sometimes require a longer treatment time with Nuvan ProStrips?
    I see answers here recommending 1-2 weeks of treatment, and others that recommend 3-4 weeks. Can you help me understand which cases require the longer treatments?

    When treating for bed bugs on items with the Nuvan ProStrips the standard treatment time is 2 weeks minimum per the manufacturer but the product label gives information about it lasting 4 months for other pests. If it is a severe infestation some customers feel more comfortable leaving items sealed for longer

    Safe for a clothes closet in use?
    I live in a small apartment and have clothing moths I've tried to eradicate with a spray but they came back. I have a medium sized closet (not walk in). I'd like to either bomb the closet or use these strips, but my clothes are in there, and the closet opens into my bathroom. Is it safe to use Nuvan strips in a closet that's in use? I can keep the door closed most of the time, but I can't seal it, and I want to continue to wear the clothes hanging in it. If Nuvan is not safe, is there a bomb or similar alternative? Removing all the clothes, spraying them and spraying the closet itself has not worked. It's an older apartment building and I suspect they're in some crevice I can't see or reach.

    Nuvan ProStrips are labeled to be effective from 2 weeks to 4 months in a closet for insect control. They are labeled for moths not specifically clothes moths. You want to allow the vapors in an enclosed area to build up to a level that will be lethal to the insects that your are trying to eliminate. Opening and closing the doors to these enclosed spaces may result in poor efficacy. It is best to make sure things are loosely packed into the areas to insure that the vapors can adequately circulate through the items that need to be treated.     Can Nuvan Prostrips be re-used ?
    A

    Nuvan Prostrips are only effective for up to 4 months. Once that time period has passed, they will no longer be as effective as they were when they were first opened. We recommend changing them out every 4 months to make sure you are getting maximum performance out of the product. Please read the product label for further information.

    Can you use Nuvan Strips Behind a Wall?
    I have about a one inch space between my baseboards and the wood floor, due to carpet removal. If it fit, could I place a strip into that space and duct tape it to get rid of bed bugs that may be hiding in the walls? This would be in my bedroom and my sons, as well as hall and living area. Would make sure the opening was tightly sealed with duct tape, but I want to be very careful, especially with my son's room.

    Nuvan Prostrips would not be something you would use to treat a wall void with as that wall still circulates air through the rest of your home and not only would the vapor not be able to build up like its supposed to (like when placed in an enclosed bag or box) but it also would not be safe to do so. Nuvan strips are not to be used where people regularly occupy the area.  You would be much better off getting rid of the bedbugs using the appropriate chemicals like in our Bed Bug Kits. These products will effectively eliminate the bed bugs and are safe to use when following the directions for application.     So I misread label directions and used Nuvan Strips in my init.
    I've vacated it for 72 hours. I've got box fans rented to air it out.. 9 65 gram strips in 1025 square feet plus some of the smaller ones for closets. all the windows and doors are on one side Other than the door to the common hallway which I don't want to open much How long do I need to air out my unit before I can sleep there? Will 8 hours be enough?

    With Nuvan Pro Strips, you need to make sure that the "bad" air is leaving out of the room and there is clean air coming in. For example, if there are two windows in the room, place a fan in one window so the air that has the Nuvan Pro Strips vapor in it, flows out. Also, open the second window so that clean in can come in. There will be areas of the room where there is "dead" air so make sure to put another fan inside the room in the opposite corner so that air circulates.     Nuvan for treating a bed bug infested laptop
    I have my laptop in a XXL ziplock bag with a nuvan strip inside, that bag is inside a 2nd ziplock bag, placed in a closed Rubbermaid tote in a foyer closet that will not be opened, is this okay? Treating for bed bugs here.

    The application you have described sounds fine. You should plan on leaving your laptop with the strip for 3-4 weeks for the best results.

    Can you use Nuvan strips inside a mattress cover and still sleep on the mattress?

    You cannot use the Nuvan strips to treat a mattress and then sleep on the mattress, even if covered.  It is against the manufacturer's instructions as specified by the product label. We would recommend using the covers, but the strips should only be used to treat confined spaces, and items in sealed containers or bags.  We understand that it is very tempting to look for and try shortcuts when dealing with bedbugs, however shortcuts should never be taken as they will usually lead to poor results. We recommend using a Bed Bug Kit to treat these rooms.

    Exterminator put Nuvan strips in closet after treating apt for bed bugs
    An exterminator placed a nuvan strips in my clothing and linen closets after treating my apartment for bed bugs. He used a total of 5 strips, 1 in each closet. He didn't mention needing to keep closets closed for 2 weeks and didn't mention needing to air out clothes before wearing them. Should I remove the Nuvan strips from the closets that I use daily? Do I need to put the clothes in the dryer before wearing or can i just remove the strip and air out the closet? Any advice is greatly greatly appreciated!
