Prime Source's Defoamer Select is a silicone blend and water-based, defoamer and antifoam to be used to knock down existing foam or prevent foam formation. Eliminating or reducing the foam during the tank mixing, will allow the product to be thoroughly agitated through the mixing process and will reduce the risk of chemical spills. The issues contributing to the formation of foam consist of the pesticides being used, the viscosity and temperature of the tank mix solutions, the extent of agitation and other factors. Defoamer Select will aid in the control the foam by penetrating the foam bubbles walls, and causing the bubbles to collapse.
The Defoamer Select is a foaming control agent that is specifically formulated for greater control of tank mix foaming. It is made with a high-quality, silicone-based additive that causes foam bubble walls to become unsteady and collapse. To use, add during mixing to prevent foam from occurring. It can also be sprayed on abrupt foaming that has occurred. The Defoamer is compatible with all tank mixes without impacting chemicals.

Tank mixing pesticides often causes foaming.
A number of factors impact the severity of the foam problem, such as the tank mix partners being combined, the temperature of the solution and the amount of agitation needed. If left untreated, these foaming issues can cause spills, impact the quality of the application or increase the amount of time it takes to make the spray solution.
Using Defoamer Select:
For most applications, use 1/2 to 1 ounce per 100 gallons of spray solution. If heavy foaming is anticipated, use up to 2 ounces per 100 gallons of spray solution.

I purchased this to cut down on mixing times. I would hate the wait time for a dense foam to dissipate before I could add more water. Really took the wind out my sails when you know you're going to be refilling a 4-gallon backpack up to 12 times to cover the property. Some small squirts of this product makes the dense foam very airy foam and the bubbles pop quick. This was a game changer for me. Will be using in my mixes from now on. To add, I did not notice any variation with product performance. My herbicides did their job the way they were supposed to and have not experienced any issues with adding this defoamer. Used on common bermuda if that helps anyone.
