Ortho Weed-B-Gon Plus Crabgrass Control Ready-To-Spray kills the toughest clovers, dandelions, and crabgrass with an efficiency of 100% root kill. This herbicide can kill over 200 types of weeds without killing the lawn. This Weed B Gon is rainproof within 1 hour of application and get results with 1 application. This herbicide enters the lawn weeds through their leaves and moves throughout the plant to provide control. For use in California: Biotypes of large and smooth crabgrass in California have shown varied response to this product. If control failure occurs following a full or split application, DO NOT reapply this product. Change to a herbicide with a different mode of action.

When to Use

  • Spray anytime weeds are actively growing.
  • For Best Results - Spray when daytime temperatures are above 45°F and below 90°F.
  • Rain or watering 1 hour after application will not wash away effectiveness.
  • Do not apply above 85°F for Bermudagrass.

    Killed dandelion, not crabgrass

    Used as directed. Did a great job eliminating dandelion and other assorted weeds, but had almost no effect on existing crabgrass, and did not prevent new crabgrass from growing.

How many gallons of water does Ortho Weed-B-Gon MAX Plus Crabgrass Control Ready-To-Spray use per 1,000 sq ft?

Per the Ortho Weed-B-Gon MAX Plus Crabgrass Ready-To-Spray label instructions, you will use 2.5 oz of the product per 1 gallon of water and this will cover 400 sq feet, so you would use a total of 6.4 oz of product and 2.5 gallons of water to cover 1,000 sq ft.

How long do I have to wait to overseed with Perennial Rye and Kentucky Bluegrass after applying Ortho Weed-B-Gon Plus Crabgrass Control Ready-To-Spray?

Per the product label, areas that have been treated with Ortho Weed-B-Gon Plus Crabgrass Control Ready-To-Spray can be reseed 4 weeks after the application. On new lawns, you will need to wait until the new turfgrass is establised and atleast 2 inches in height, after the 2nd mowing or 30 days.
