    Q
Is Remedy Ultra Specialty Herbicide safe to use on pasture broadleaf weeds when the pasture also has mature trees that we do not want to harm?
(60.5% active ingredient.) If so, the instructions say not to graze horses etc. during the growing season. Please explain. That would be when the horses would be on the pasture.
    A

Remedy Ultra does not have grazing restrictions except for lactating dairy animals. There is a pre-harvest interval for hay treated with Remedy Ultra of 14 days. You do need to be very careful when using Remedy or other products containing triclopyr around desirable trees or other ornamental plants. Be sure you do not contact the leaves, branches, or roots of desirable trees with the direct spray or mist of Remedy Ultra to avoid injury. Be sure to follow any other applicable restrictions on the product label.

    Q
What is the dosage and application rate of Remedy for mesquite?
What is the application rate on this chemical? I am trying to calculate the dosage using root and stump treatment of mesquite on a 400 acre parcel. I am testing three or four products to see which work best.
    A

Per the product label for Remedy, when treating for mesquite only, you would need to mix with Reclaim (though we do not carry this product) for best results.  The rate to apply is 1/2 to 1 pint Remedy Ultra per acre in combination with 2/3 to 1 1/3 pint per acre of Reclaim.  Apply with ground equiment in 10 gallons or more total volume per acre.  Use a maximum of 1 gallon of oil per acre for ground application.

For cut stump treatment: Mix 20-30 gallons of Remedy Ultra in enough oil to make 100 gallons of spray mixture.

Please refer to the product label for complete instructions as further information is available for mesquite treatments on it.

  • Asked by Wc from Bismarck, Ar

    Q
Will Remedy kill sweetgum and blackberry?
    What rate/gal should I use?
    A

When using Remedy Ultra Herbicide to control blackberry, you will use 2 to 4 pints of Remedy Ultra with 2 to 3 quarts of low volatile 2,4-D in sufficient water per Acre (1.5 – 2.2 oz per 1,000 sq ft). For blackberry, apply during or after bloom for best results. You would use the same rate for sweetgum, although if you have large trees, we would recommend cutting the trees, making 4-5 holes in the fresh cut stump, and then immediately applying a glyphosate product such as Killzall undiluted by flooding the stump. Remedy Ultra Herbicide does not list sweetgum on the product label, but there are other products with the same active ingredient that list treatment similar to that for blackberry.

    Q
How soon will I see results after spraying Remedy on lespadeza?
    A

Remedy Ultra Herbicide treated plants die two to three weeks after application as it is a systemic herbicide that moves through the plant and this takes time.  Plant growth will start to look abnormal within days of applying though.

  • Asked by Godfrey from Noble, Oklahoma
    06/10/2017
    Q
Can you mix Pendulum and Remedy herbicides together in a sprayer to spray a pasture?
I've got 40 acres of virgin weed pasture that has Johnson grass, sumac, berry vines, etc and trying to kill all in order to plant bermuda grass at a later date. Wanting to spray only once and get all weeds and vines. What would you recommend? I heard Pendulum and Remedy Herbicides work great. Can I mix them together and spray? Thank you.
    A

Pendulum 3.3 and Remedy Ultra Herbicides can certainly be mixed together and applied at the same time. Keep in mind that Pendulum is a pre emergent and is normally only applied in spring and fall at specific times for your area to get the longest lasting result and prevent new weeds from coming up the next season. The Remedy since its a post emergent will need to be applied when the weeds and vines and target plants are still in an actively growing state to allow for the full effects of the product to take place. Remedy contains Triclopyr which is one of the top ingredients used for killing unwanted weeds and brush in pasture areas. Be sure to use a sufficient water volume to completely cover the target plants in product and to reduce the need for reapplication. Some trees/brush/viens may require a second application with Remedy if they are well established and mature in growth. On average you should be using 1-2 gallons of water per 1000 sq/ft and then mixing the correct amount of product per those labels into that water amount for the area.

Keep in mind the Pendulum is not labeled for use where animals graze.
