    What is the capacity of the spoon that comes with Sedgehammer Herbicide?
    A

    Sedgehammer (1.33 oz bottle) comes with a measuring spoon. Each level spoon (0.9 g) of product is mixed to one gallon of water and 2 tsp of Non-Ionic Surfactant per gallon of water. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.

    What product do I use for nutsedge control in my bahia grass pastures?
    I have 15 acres and need an herbicide to kill off the nutsedge in FL?

    You could apply Sedgehammer as long as the pasture is not used for grazing. Each 1.33 fl oz bottle will treat an acre.

    I have SedgeHammer with the little spoon. Do I add 1 or 2 gallons of water?
    A

    You will use 1 scoop/spoon of SedgeHammer in up to 2 gallons of water per 1000 sq. ft.  Water is only the carrier, so you will use whatever amount necessary to adequately disperse the product over that 1000 sq. ft. area.

    How much SedgeHammer Herbicide needed for 100 gallons of water?
    A

    The 1.33 oz bottle of SedgeHammer Herbicide will yield about 40 gallons of finished solution. You would need 2½ bottles to make 100 gallons of finished solution.  Keep in mind that the SedgeHammer in the 1.33 oz. bottle requires the use of a surfactant for best results.

    What is the best time to apply SedgeHammer Herbicide for pre-emergent control?
    A

    SedgeHammer Herbicide is a post emergent herbcide for actively growing nutsedge only. This will not work as a pre-emergent to prevent nutsedge from germinating. Unfortunately, there is not a pre-emergent labeled for nutsedge. Please be sure to read our Nutsedge Weed Guide for more information.

    You will use one scoop of SedgeHammer Herbicide plus a Non-Ionic Surfactant in 1-2 gallons of water to treat 1000 square feet.

    Will Sedgehammer Herbicide kill rhizonous weeds like horsetail and bulbous weeds (like arum italicum)?
    A

    Sedgehammer Herbicide will control young horsetail under 6 inches or suppress horsetail over 6 inches. Please see pages 2-3 product label for complete instructions. We do not have any products that are labeled for arum italicum because it is a newer invasive species. You can use a non-selective herbicide such as RoundUp QuikPro for this plant.

    Can Sedgehammer be mixed with Tenacity?
    Can this be mixed with tenacity, so tenacity acts as a preemergent for nutsedge?
    A

    Tenacity is not a pre emergent for nutsedge, it is a post emergent for nutsedge. You would use either the Sedgehammer or the Tenacity to kill existing sedges in your yard, but you would not mix the two. In general, there are not pre emergents for nutsedge due to its root system and how it grows. You can only treat it with a post emergent product as it comes up. One product that makes the claim it can prevent yellow nutsedge only is Pennant Magnum, however many do not purchase it due to its size and price often being far too much for most homeowners needs.

    The 1.33 oz bottle of SedgeHammer Herbicide should be applied with a surfactant and will cover up to an acre of treated area.

    Can SedgeHammer Herbicide and Quinclorac be tank mixed together?
    Fired lawn care company and I'm trying to control nutsedge and crabgrass that have invaded my zoysia lawn. Is it ok to tank mix Sedgehammer and Quinclorac together in a 2 gallon sprayer for broadcast spraying? If not, how long do I have to wait after I have spray Quinclorac to spray Sedgehammer?

    Yes, you can tank-mix SedgeHammer Herbicide with Quinclorac, just follow the compatibility instructions on the label to do a jar test first.
    Please make sure to refer to all product labels prior to application.

    We would not advise to spray SedgeHammer Herbicide - 1.33 oz. bottle via a hose end sprayer.
