    Nutsedge Removal Feedback

    By Dan on 07/15/2019

Easy to use. After 3 weeks this product has done a fairly decent job removing nutsedge from my emerald zoysia lawn. It did not harm my grass in summer heat. Much better success with Sedgehammer than my past marginally successful attempts using Image.

Controls purple nutsedge; probably doesn't eradicate it

    By Mr on 07/17/2019

I've been using SedgeHammer for more than 10 years in a largely unsuccessful effort to eradicate purple nutsedge from my tall fescue lawn. The nutsedge begins emerging in my lawn the last week of May or first week of June. It continues to emerge through the month of August and into early September. I usually apply the SedgeHammer herbicide to each plant using a spray bottle, and I thoroughly wet all leaves from top to bottom. Within a week's time the nutsedge leaves begin to turn yellow, and within a few weeks the plant will brown out and disappear

    Great for killing nut grass.

    By David on 07/19/2019

I sprayed SedgeHammer on my nut grass, and it killed it everywhere I applied it. Unfortunately, I didn't hit all the locations where the nut grass was. I got 90% of it, but I'll need to get some more to get the rest of it.

    Sedgehammer

    By Jim on 07/26/2019

Order was at a great price, came on the day it was supposed to. The product has worked great on my Nutsedge grass, took about 3 days to yellow and wither, not growing any longer

    Good product and fast delivery

    By Harry on 07/26/2019

When I first ordered SledgeHammer, my yard was so covered in nut sedge I had to try something. After applying the product, it took about 2 weeks to see the results. Since I had apparently missed some of the sedge, I placed a second order which I just applied today. Both orders were shipped quickly and arrived quicker than I had anticipated. If the need arises, I'll be ordering from them again.

    Sedge Hammer Herb.

    By Dave on 08/02/2019

This chemical is amazing to get rid of sedge grass. I've used it several times and my lawn is almost rid of this nasty grass. Expensive but worth the money

    Sedgehammer

    By Linda on 08/02/2019

This stuff works well. The products you buy at the store only seem to "brown out" the tops of the yellow nutsedge, but so far, I'm not seeing a return of those pesky sedge grasses in my lawn.

    Sedgehammer Came To The Rescue

    By J. on 08/02/2019

For several years Nut Grass had been invading the Monkey Grass bordering our sidewalks, patio, and rose garden until it had become an eye sore. It was also spreading in the yard. Pulling the weed by hand without digging out the nut only made it worse. Digging out the nuts one at a time by hand was a losing effort. The Nut Grass was driving me nuts. After trying several types of commercially available weed killers which had no effect, Sedgehammer solved the problem. I use a rubber glove to apply Sedgehammer to the Nut Grass which has grown in among or in close proximity to ornamental plants even though it doesn't seem to kill anything other than Nut Grass. Be patient when using Sedgehammer, because you will not see immediate results. It takes several days before the plant begins to wilt and finally turns yellow and dies out after about two weeks or so. Last year we applied two gallons, this year I mixed up one quart and have used less than half.

    SedgeHammer Herbicide

One application and sedge was knocked out. Missed a few spots so I'm glad I ordered two. Mixed easily in the one gallon sprayer and applied well.

    Nutsedge gone

    By Brian on 08/02/2019

As an agronomist that is familiar with this herbicide for yellow nutsedge I was thrilled to find it available in a 1 gallon premix. I sprayed it on elongated sedge about four days after mowing. Waited 24 hrs and mowed it. It is all controlled. It takes a couple weeks to melt away but the roots are dead. I did not drown the weeds but just sprayed them until they were wet. Very good turf tolerance. I think if the weeds are growing well you will not fail to be impressed.

    That horrible, horrible nutgrass

For all of you out there who despise nutgrass as much as I do, this is the ONLY product I have found that will kill this gardener's menace.

    excellent

    By Greg on 08/09/2019

Used this on a fescue lawn and it killed the nut grass without any harm to the lawn. Surprised, since it was hot and dry at the time. Nothing else worked to get rid of that weed including pulling it out routinely.

    It worked it worked!!!

    By Mi on 08/09/2019

First, it takes a while to actually exhibit that the herbicide is working, so I had treated it twice in the span of 2 days. But I'm soo happy that it worked. I will be treating the other portion of my yard this weekend and wait patiently for results!

    Works Great!

    By Kay on 08/09/2019

I had many Nutsedge plants, many of them 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide. Was advised by a landscaper not to pull them out but to treat with Sedgehammer. So we sprayed the plants and waited about 3 weeks. Pulled out the plants with roots and nuts/tubers. I now have a gardener who uses a string trimmer to cut off all weeds at ground level, including a little below ground level. It has only been about 2 months since then, but no sign of return of Nutsedge plants. Since I know they spread via the underground tubers and retuns/spread aggressively, I so glad. Now I have 2 packs of Sedgehammer to use in case they return, and based on these excellent results am confident the problem has been solved. Great product; great advice.

    THIS STUFF WORKED FIRST APPLICATION!

    By Robin on 08/09/2019

I don't ever leave reviews. I think a product should work the first time you use it, but even still, I had my doubts and got a 2nd application "just in case". Don't need it! This worked on the nutsedge weed infestation first application. Very pleased!

You will be singing it too...

    By Andrea on 08/16/2019

If you are as old as I am, as soon as you start opening the package, you will also be singing the ol' Peter Gabriel song. :) And, I have to say, this stuff works! I bought three packets of it, used it on all the trouble spots in my yard and the nutsedge is gone! I seem to have missed one spot, so I ordered some more and will be hitting that spot this weekend. The packets make it super convenient for a 1 gallon tank sprayer and I started to see results in about 6 days. I will definitely be getting more of this if I see any more nutsedge popping up!

    Nutsedge spray.

    By Jeff on 08/16/2019

I had nutsedge take over20% of my backyard this summer. I read about this because I did not want to spray noxious chemicals on my lawn. This product needs to be sprayed when dry conditions are prevalent. I sprayed the nutsedge on hot dry day and it killed most of it. Touch up is required though as the nutsedge shows up at areas close to where I sprayed. It took several weeks but it definitely killed it. Nutsedge doesn't like shade, at least on my lawn. But, it is pervasive. I will spray the remaining patches when ever it dries out again. Good luck.

    Nutsedge issues

    By Tom on 08/16/2019

First time user of Sedgehammer plus and results were excellent. Worked as prescribed, took approximately 10 days to die off. My neighbors were so impressed that they too will be purchasing Sedgehammer plus. Easy to apply with sprayer. Decided to order more for the side yard to finally rid my yard of this insidious weed.

    Works but be patient.

    By Steve on 08/16/2019

I mixed it with my normal general spot spray gallon. Spot sprayed and it definitely worked. I just had to be patient and watch it slowly die. You can hit it with a round two, but I'd wait 4-7 days before you give into that itch.

    Superiour product!

    By Perry on 08/16/2019

This is the only thing I've found that consistently eliminates sedge grass. I sprayed several infested areas and within time I could see the sedge grass dying. This product doesn't work overnight so don't be surprised that the sedge grass still appear green and thriving the day following initial spraying. However, you will see it begin to dry up and disappear within a couple of weeks. For highly infected area a repeat spray may be required. Now my turf grass (Bermuda and Zosia) doesn't have to compete with this grassy weed. Both are spreading and replacing the sedge grass. I plan to keep this product on hand because it works.
