    Nutsedge spray.

    By Jeff on 08/16/2019

I had nutsedge take over20% of my backyard this summer. I read about this because I did not want to spray noxious chemicals on my lawn. This product needs to be sprayed when dry conditions are prevalent. I sprayed the nutsedge on hot dry day and it killed most of it. Touch up is required though as the nutsedge shows up at areas close to where I sprayed. It took several weeks but it definitely killed it. Nutsedge doesn't like shade, at least on my lawn. But, it is pervasive. I will spray the remaining patches when ever it dries out again. Good luck.

    Nutsedge issues

    By Tom on 08/16/2019

First time user of Sedgehammer plus and results were excellent. Worked as prescribed, took approximately 10 days to die off. My neighbors were so impressed that they too will be purchasing Sedgehammer plus. Easy to apply with sprayer. Decided to order more for the side yard to finally rid my yard of this insidious weed.

    Works but be patient.

    By Steve on 08/16/2019

I mixed it with my normal general spot spray gallon. Spot sprayed and it definitely worked. I just had to be patient and watch it slowly die. You can hit it with a round two, but I'd wait 4-7 days before you give into that itch.

    Superiour product!

    By Perry on 08/16/2019

This is the only thing I've found that consistently eliminates sedge grass. I sprayed several infested areas and within time I could see the sedge grass dying. This product doesn't work overnight so don't be surprised that the sedge grass still appear green and thriving the day following initial spraying. However, you will see it begin to dry up and disappear within a couple of weeks. For highly infected area a repeat spray may be required. Now my turf grass (Bermuda and Zosia) doesn't have to compete with this grassy weed. Both are spreading and replacing the sedge grass. I plan to keep this product on hand because it works.

    Sedgehammer Just Works

    By Rick on 08/17/2019

Ok, it's not inexpensive, but it just plain works. We had the worst growth of nutsedge in our four-acre lawn this year that we have had in 15 years. It was so thick in some areas you could not see the turf. One application with SedgeHammer at the specified rate (one included spoonful per 2 gals. in most places and 2 in the heavy areas) wiped it out. Actually used a 2-gallon sprayer. After 35 gallons, I still have some left.

    Kills Nutsedge

    By Michael on 08/23/2019

If you have an issue with nutsedge in your St. Augustine grass, this stuff works great. Followed the directions in applying 2 days after mowing. (Used 1 gallon handheld liquid pump spreader.) After a week, noticed the nutsedge was still there, but not sprouting up above the St. Aug grass. Another week and it turned yellow. After a month it's disappeared completely. Sedgehammer is a little pricy, but it gets the job done and doesn't harm the lawn. BTW - Used it in a different area of the lawn recently. Had a heavy downpour the next day and it didn't work as well. I think best to use when it will be dry for 24-48 hours.

    Works Great!

    By Robert on 08/23/2019

SEDGEHAMMER is the only product that I have purchased for Nut Sedge that absolutely works! I have purchased at least 6 different types of Nut Sedge killer, none of which worked as indicated on the container. You do have to be patient, it will take 4 to 5 days for there to be signs that it is working. But once it starts, it's over for Mr. Nut Sedge.

    Seems to work as advertisied.....

    By Jack on 08/23/2019

2 weeks since first treatment and while the Nutsedge is not dead it's starting to yellow. Basically after the first application it's growth was stunted within the week, basically it stopped growing. Now at 2 weeks it's yellowing......I'd say it's a winner.....

    Patience

    By Charlie on 08/23/2019

An incredible Super Selective Herbicide. Our 1 acre yard is almost totally free of Purple Nutsedge. 1st application and the impatient me wanted it dead the first day. It began to yellow out after about 4 days so I sprayed it again. I probably wasted that second round of spray. But who cares my sedge is gone. The pesky weed pops up from time to time I guess from random nutlets that are sprouting. I have a sprayer loaded when they decide to pop up. All in all a wonderful product. Stay vigilant its worth it.

    By Phyllis on 08/23/2019

Did a great job. A second treatment should get it done. Residual stays on for weeks.

    sedge hammer works

    By Fred on 08/24/2019

If you have nut grass, the bright green grass that seems to grow overnite, you can use sedge hammer to get rid of it. You don't see any results for about 4 days or so, but then it turns yellow when the nut dies and then it is gone. One application for me, and it went away.

    Nutsedge Gone!

    By Adam on 08/30/2019

I've used this on several occasions (thanks LCN!) and it works great. I live in PA and have mostly turf type tall fescue. I did a spot spay - it killed all the nutsedge and no damage to grass.

    Effective for my Yellow Nutsedge

    By Sierra on 09/03/2019

I'd give it four stars but it's not especially good value for money. I bought the 2 pack for an area I thought would be treated by one. Ended up using both and still had a few to pull up by hand when I was done. As expected, it took a few days to show an effect though growth seemed to slow and then stop. Nutsedge is now yellow or brown but still there, 2-3 weeks later.

    Excellent - works great

    By N on 09/04/2019

If you have a lot of Nut Sedge, this is far more economical than the individual packets. Sedge Hammer killer nut sedge to the root and unlike pulling, it won't comeback.
