I was looking to kill dollar weed in a St Augustine lawn and this product listed dollar weed as one of the weeds it kills. I followed all directions explicitly and after one week I see no results that it is working. I would not buy this expensive product again.

Always talk up the products I purchase from here but was out done by ORTHO Nutsedge Killer 32-fl oz Concentrated Herbicide and didn't hurt the lawn. Used the this product twice and was still fighting nutsedge in front lawn my sister went and purchased Ortho...sprayed the backyard and worked amazing.

The product came quickly, price was right, but my poa annua is still just as green as it can be.
Expert response:
We do apologize but Sedgehammer is not labeled to treat for poa annua so will not have any effect on it. Instead we would recommend something like Negate or Certainty.

I bought the products to try to get rid of some weeds on my yard because the products that I was buying at Home Depot were not working.. I tried this product with same results (DID NOT WORK) and I still have the same weeds.I am not a weed expert at all maybe I used thw wrong product

Not good for kyllinga

So I used this product almost 30 days ago and all the green kyllinga I have growing in my yard is thriving still. Didn't event change the light green color of the kyllinga to yellow. I should have gone with Dismiss NXT. Next time I will be purchasing the Dismiss NXT. Might work good on other sedges but not kyllinga.

sorry, but nutsedge is thriving as much as ever after being treated with this in my rock garden. am i missing something? is it specifically for lawn treatment? sorely disappointed. these weeds grow like wildfire and have taken over my beautiful rock landscaping. the more i pull, the faster they grow! i just don't have the time to pull weeds every single day, which is basically what i would have to do to keep up!

This year I have an infestation of nut sedge. I applied a full bottle of SedgeHammer to my .75 acre lawn by diluting it in 20 gallons of water as directed. The day of application was hot and dry. Irrigation had been turned off 48 hours prior and after. Lawn was not mowed for 3 days prior or after. Two weeks after application, it appeared the nut sedge weeds were a little less spry, but by no means was it dying or even severely stressed. I wound up having to spray each weed with Glyphosate to kill it in prep for fall aeration and seeding. That was a hard job and I didn't get them all, but SedgeHammer did not work.

I purchased two packets of the powder and mixed each in a tank sprayer. After 1 week there was no effect. After two weeks there were a few nutsedge affected but much less than with Ortho Nutsedge Killer. The Ortho produced evidence of browning in less than a week.

I used this and also used another type from Lowes which you distribute with a hose. For some reason, this product was perhaps a 2 our of ten.. the other product was an 8 our of ten

Been using this since 2020 every year and each year it came back more agressive. I cannot get rid of this grass

It's possible you are dealing with a resistance issue if you have been using Sedgehammer repeatedly over the last few years to treat nutsedge, it can also take 6-10 weeks to show results and may require repeat treatments. To prevent this it is recommended to rotate herbicides, products with Sulfentrazone would be great for early applications and actually has some pre-emergent properties.
