I have a cedar picnic table that the wasps seem to like to collect in the nooks and crannies and stay hidden until one sits down and out they come. Have done this for several years now. I am thinking about some sort of foam insecticidal spray with residual activity and adherence where sprayed, something like an expanding foam. Is there such a product and do you have any?
It sounds like the wasps may be in the ground under the table rather than on the table itself, unless you can see a specific place where there is a small nest on or under the table. We would not recommend using any insecticide where you sit or eat on a picnic table. Tempo SC Ultra would be a great choice for the ground around the table. You can also use a knockdown spray such as Wasp Freeze to spray flying, stinging insects in the immediate area as you see them.
