    Q
Can Stuf-Fit be used unrolled across a roof ridgeline?
We have a roof in which the curved tiles leave gaps, especially at the ridgeline where the trim is curved at the top but straight across the tiles. We're thinking to remove all the trim, unroll Stuf-Fit and lay it across the length of the ridge, secure it with nails, and then put the trim back. Most of the other applications talk about stuffing it into a hole, so I'm wondering if the mesh will be strong enough to prevent rats from entering if it is spread rather than stuffed. Thanks.

The STUF-FIT copper mesh is used to close openings that rodents can get into.  It is usually used with expanding foam.  It is not designed to be used flat as it can be pulled to allow holes they can access.

    Q
Can the Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh be used to fill a hole in a tree to prevent rodents from nesting in there?
    A

STUF-FIT Copper Mesh is used to stuff it into openings around pipes or other holes and cracks in a structure to keep rats, mice, birds and other wildlife out.  Because of the way the mesh is woven, it is very difficult for rodents to chew through it.  Stuf-fit works best in holes and cracks around 2 inches in diameter.  It is not meant to be used in live trees and if the hole you are inquiring about is larger than 2 inches in diameter the Stuf-Fit would not be effective.

    Q
Can STUF-FIT Copper Mesh be used around dryer hose?
There are 3 holes in my apartment (House was built in 1800's and now has 4 apartments) that mice are getting into.. Can this be used around the hose that runs from my dryer to the dryer vent outside? I've tried traps, glue boards and peppermint oil and I'm about to lose my mind over it.. With the house being so old and not mine, I don't want to do too much or possibly do any damage
    A

It depends on the size of the holes.  STUF-FIT Copper Mesh works best in holes and cracks around 2 inches in diameter. Larger holes should be repaired and sealed permanently.  You should either cement the stuffit in place or typically you would at least use an expandable foam in the crack or gap which will hold the stuff-it in place and prevent it from easily being pulled out.

    Q
What is the proper way to install the Stuf-fit Copper Mesh?
The rats appear to be getting in under new roof shingles. The soffits are in great shape with no holes at all. How should I install?
    A

STUF-FIT Copper Mesh would be used to fill in any openings/gaps where you think the rats may be getting in.  Any crack, gap or hole that is ¼” or larger needs to be repaired.  Here is an article with some helpful information on rodent proofing your home.

Can I use STUF-FIT Copper Mesh to seal up around baseboard radiators?

Stuf-fit works best in holes and cracks around 2 inches in diameter. Larger holes should be repaired and sealed permanently.  A foam product like Pur Black Foam would be used to hold the Stuf-Fit in place.

    Q
Can I use Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh around a refrigerator door liner and also be able to open the door on a daily basis?
I us an old refrigerator to store horse grain. The mice push their way between the door seal.
    A

Yes, STUF-FIT Copper Mesh could be used, however, it will have to be adjusted every time the refrigerator door is opened if it moves. You should look at replacing the seal permanently for best results and to keep your refrigerator working properly.

    Q
Can STUF-FIT Copper Mesh be applied between trees to protect squirrels?
I googled how to protect squirrels from hawks. I had some trees removed from my property and now I have two hawks that are leaving scars on all the squirrels I've been feeding. I'm just looking for a way to protect the squirrels that I feared from these hawks.

STUF-FIT Copper Mesh is intended to be stuffed into small holes, and then it is usually sealed with a hard filler such as expansion foam.  It is not recommended for use spread between trees or in open areas.

We would recommend contacting a local Wildlife Expert for information on how to protect squirrels.

    Q
How can I install STUF-FIT Copper Mesh along with skirting?
    A

The STUF-FIT Copper Mesh is meant to block small holes, gaps or openings that are 2 inches or less according to the manufacturer. The use you are describing would be considered and “off label” use and not one that would be appropriate for this product.
