Talstar XTRA Granular Insecticide might kill those grasshoppers that contact a treated area but it is not labeled for them so would not be recommended for control. A liquid bifenthrin product would be a better option. You should start applications before the grasshoppers have a chance to hatch. You should thoroughly spray your lawn and water in the application with about a .25 in of water to help the bifenthrin get past the thatch layer and into the soil where grass hoppers actually develop. If you already have grasshoppers you can use Talstar P at the highest usage rate of 1 oz of product per 1 gallon of water for the quickest knockdown.

Talstar XTRA granules can only be used to treat lawns and soil for insect infestation. You can use Bifen IT which is the liquid formulation of Bifen to treat for adult mosquitoes. Mosquito larva can be eliminated with BTI Mosquito Dunks which can be placed directly into water sources such as ponds, unused pools and other areas of standing water.
