    Q
Which is better for me Tempo SC Ultra Premise or Tempo SC Ultra?
I have a house full of small grand kids.
    A

We do not carry and therefore cannot comment on Tempo SC Ultra Premise. We do, however, carry Tempo SC Ultra and can tell you that the product is labeled for a large number of insects and is safe to spray indoors along baseboards, cracks and crevices. Kids, pets and everyone else needs to exit the area to be treated at the time of treatment and can return once the treated area is completely dry. Approximate drying time is about 2 hours.

    Q
I'm treating for bed bugs. Should I shampoo the carpet and furniture? Can I spray Tempo SC Ultra on my bed?
Do I need to rent a shampooer to shampoo the carpets and furniture after using this inside my house? Should I use this on my bed for bed bugs? Last, do I need to wash the baseboards and other areas after using this product? I have a two year old child and a pregnant wife in the house. Thanks!
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled only to use as a crack and crevice spray around the perimeter of the room. It is not labeled to be used on mattresses, furniture or other items that will be coming in prolonged skin contact. You can use Tempo SC Ultra on your box-spring. We have linked the Tempo SC Ultra product label in this answer so you can review the label for complete usage instructions. We recommend using Bedlam Plus for spraying your mattress.

Please take a look at our How to Treat for Bed Bugs Article for step by step insructions on how to do a full treatment.

    Q
If I spray Tempo SC Ultra in closets or closed areas, will the fumes kill carpet beetles/larva?
    A
No, Tempo SC Ultra does not have fumes per say.  Its mode of action is a residual film where you apply the product.  If the product comes into contact with a carpet beetle or larvae, it will kill it.  If a carpet beetles or larvae walks or crawls over a surface that was sprayed with Tempo SC Ultra, then it will pick up the residual of the product on itself and die.  We do carry a product called Nuvan Pro Strips which does emit fumes and are for small enclosed areas like a closet.  You can leave the strips for a period of time and it will kill any beetles or larvae that happen to be in the closet.  Please read the product label for full instructions.

    Q
Can you apply Tempo SC Ultra to lawn areas with a backpack mister such as a Stihl sr420 or a solo 444?
    A
No. The Tempo SC Ultra product label does not have any directions in regards to using the product in a mister/blower application. We recommend using Tempo SC Ultra in a regular pump sprayer.

  • Asked by First
    07/15/2010
    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra deter mosquitoes?
If sprayed Tempo SC the on lawn, trees, patio, and surrounding vegetation, will I see less skeeters?
    A

Tempo SC will not actually repel mosquitoes, but using it in target areas will help reduce the number of mosquitoes in your yard. Tempo SC Ultra should be sprayed on the underside of leaves on trees and bushes to help control mosquitoes. Mosquitoes like to hide on the underside of leaves during the heat of the day so spraying there will help the mosquitoes come into contact with the Tempo SC.

  • Asked by Skinny from Dfw, Texas
    11/05/2011
    Q
Can I use Tempo SC Ultra in hamster or guinea pig cages?
I have problems with roaches getting into their food. I think the hamsters are eating them, but I usually find a couple roaches in the guinea pig cage. When I clean the guinea pig cage, can I spray it, let it dry, and then add clean hay/bedding?
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is not labeled for use in animal cages. We recommend that instead of spraying the cages that you treat the areas surrounding the cages to kill the roaches before they enter the cages. You can also add an Insect Growth regulator such as Gentrol IGR to the Tempo SC Ultra to help break the infestation cycle. Keeping the cages and the areas around the cages very clean will also help to get rid of the roaches.

  • Asked by Kayla from Donnelly, Mn
    01/08/2013
    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra work on spider eggs?
I understand that it will kill the spiders already there, but the eggs are our problem because I vacuum up all the spiders and in a few days the house is full again!
    A
There are no insecticides that will kill spider eggs. Spiders eggs are in a protected shell (much like a chicken egg) and will remain unaffected by insecticides. That being said, as spiders hatch they will walk through the residual and be killed by the Tempo SC. Be sure you are spraying all of your window and door frames, baseboards and also around the exterior of your home to stop new spiders from moving in and also to kill other insects that spiders can prey on. By helping to remove the food source you will also be removing the spiders motivation from moving in to your home.

  • Asked by Nick from Boydton, Va. 23917
    04/13/2013
    Q
    When do I spray Tempo?
I live on the North Carolina/ Virginia boarder. Tempo worked great last year but now that it is spring, when should I apply ? My main problem is 1'000s of grasshoppers once they hatch. Do I spray now or wait until they hatch. we are new to the area and I just remember mowing the lawn last year while 1'000s of bug flew up from the lawn. Also, what would be a good general weed spray for my lawn ? I have a tractor and a 25 gallon pull behind sprayer. Thank you !
    A

You should start spraying before the egg hatch. To find the correct timing in your region you should contact your local cooperative extension office as the timing varies from region to region. Cooperative extension locator: http://npic.orst.edu/pest/countyext.htm

  • Asked by Ross from Small Town, Ia

    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be mixed with Lawn Herbicide?
I want to spray for both weeds and bugs in one pass. If using Speed Zone or Trimec 992 and a Surfactant will it diminish the results or have an adverse affect on the herbicide?
    A
Sometimes herbicides and insecticides can be mixed depending on the molecular makeup of the products. Since both Speedzone and Trimec 992 are made by PBI Gordon we recommend contacting them at 800-821-7925 to verify that these products can be mixed with Tempo SC Ultra. As far as the surfactant, it will not make a difference. You can add a surfactant to both herbicides and insecticide for extra sticking and penetration power.

    Q
Is Tempo effective on spruce bud worm in pine trees?
    A
Tempo Sc Ultra is labeled for bud worms and should do a great job for you when used as directed. We do recommend testing the product on one small area of the tree before broadcasting on the entire tree because spruce are known to loose their color very easily from insecticide applications.

    Q
Will tempo ultra kill fleas inside the home?
If so, where should this be sprayed? Carpets? How long should we notice no fleas?
    A
Tempo SC is more of a crack and crevice treatment. You could use Tempo SC along baseboards cracks and crevices and then use Nyguard Plus which will treat both eggs and adults. Nyguard Plus can also be applied to carpets, rugs, flooring, floors, drapes and all surfaces of upholstered furniture including under cushions. Avoid over wetting furniture and carpeting

If these two products are different, how so and what are their advantages and disadvantages. Is the beta product more powerful or have a higher concentration?

Tempo SC Ultra effectively controls a broad spectrum of indoor, outdoor, and turf and ornamental pests. Tempo SC also contains 11.8% Beta-Slathering whereas Tempo Ultra WP contains 10% Cyfluthrin. They are both great products the effectively treat all types of insects. Tempo Ultra Wp will leave a visible residue whereas Tempo SC will not.

    Q
Why do I have to throw my food away after spraying it with Tempo SC bug spray?
    A
Tempo is not labeled to be sprayed on any type of edible vegetation. Consuming foods sprayed with the product could cause serious harm to you and others that eat it. You always want to follow the labels strictly for the safety of you and others, and only use  approved products for edible vegetation to avoid any health dangers. Anything edible sprayed accidentally or purposefully with the Tempo SC Ultra or other similarly labled product should be disposed of promptly.

    Q
Termidor SC was applied around my house 6 months ago. How long before I can eat vegetables grown in that soil?
I transplanted some chard into a planting bed next to the house 2 weeks ago. The plants look great, but will they poison us?
    A
If you planted edible plants in any soil treated with Termidor you would not be able to eat anything from those plants.   Termidor should not under any circumstances be applied near or on anything edible and you should also not plant anything edible in soil that is treated with Termidor.  You should keep Termidor treatments at least 10 feet away from any garden.
