    Q
Can I spray Tempo SC Ultra on the bed and box spring?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled only to use as a crack and crevice spray around the perimeter of the room. It is not labeled to be used on mattresses, furniture or other items that will be coming in prolonged skin contact. You can use Tempo SC Ultra on your box-spring. We have linked the Tempo SC Ultra product label in this answer so you can review the label for complete usage instructions. We recommend using Bedlam Plus for spraying your mattress. Can Tempo SC Ultra keep the carpenter bees from boring into wood?
    A

Yes! Tempo SC Ultra is a popular product to treat for Carpenter Bees. It would also be a good idea to dust in the bored holes with a product like Delta Dust to kill the larvae. You may also want to check out our Carpenter Bee Guide for more tips on how to treat and prevent carpenter bees.

    Q
i have just purchased a 900ml bottle and plan on spraying multiple house for Asian beetles i have a100 gallon
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for a few differnt types of Beetles, however Asian Beetles is not the label. We recommend using Onslaught Fastcap or Bifen IT outdoors to kill Asian beetles, using either product at a mixing rate of 1oz per gallon water. Treating outdoor areas is very time consuming and getting the appropriate coverage over the area can be a real challenge. But it's the only way to stop the invasion. Spraying indoors without spraying outdoors is virtually useless. Any measure for control to treat Asian Lady Beetles assumes that all holes and entry points OUTSIDE of the structure have been sealed first. When treating the inside and outside perimeter of the home, focus on the entry points to the home (windows, doord, eaves, attic vents, foundation cracks). Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra be effective if used as a spray above a drop-ceiling for varied carpet beetles?
    A

Since Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for use indoors as a crack and crevice spray, you could potentially use it as part of a carpet beetle treatment program. We recommend adding an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) when treating for carpet beetles, such as NyGuard IGR. You could also use a ready-to-use product like NyGuard Plus which has both an insecticide and an IGR in one product. A better choice for use in the drop ceiling may be an insecticide dust, though, since it is a dry product that would not damage the tiles, and a dust lasts much longer than a spray in void spaces like a drop ceiling. Delta Dust can be used in a drop ceiling for carpet beetles and other crawling insect pests there. Or you may consider our Carpet Beetle Control Kit which includes the NyGuard Plus, CimeXa Dust, and glue traps.

Be sure that you have located and removed the source of the infestation as well. We have more tips in our Carpet Beetle Treatment Guide here

    Q
    Midge Control
We have swarms of millions of midges that look like massive clouds. they stick to your house get into the house th rough the screens and cover the car. Is there anything I can spray to destroy this mass invasion before it happens besides keep lights down. It is awful.
    A
Biting midges do generally not enter structures, but midges are small enough to get through 16 mesh screens. Getting mesh screens with a higher number can keep these and other very tiny insects out of your home. Since non-biting midges are attracted to lights, draw your shades at night and wait as long as possible to turn on exterior lights to keep them away from your home. It is nearly impossible to affect the habitat of these pests, and pesticides are not recommended to control these pests in water or mud.

Our experts recommend using a pyrethrin spray such as 565 Plus or Microcare to get rid of the adult midges in or around your home. Spraying a product such as Tempo SC Ultra on window screens, doors, bushes, and plants around your home can act as midge repellant to keep midges away. Citronella candles or oils can act as a midge repellant, but aren’t as effective when used alone.

    Q
I have heard of neighbors using Tempo SC Ultra on their cattle to control flies. Will this hurt the cattle?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is not labeled for use on cattle so could harm them if used off label, it is only used in and around animal housing. Animals other than cattle or horses need to be out of the area during treatment until dry.  For fly control on cattle themselves we have many other options here.  Permethrin based products being the most popular.

    Q
How long do you need to keep livestock (alpacas) away after spraying Tempo SC Ultra?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra cannot be used on any pasture area or anywhere that animals graze so we would not recommend applying in those areas. If you are referring to livestock housing areas, animals can return to the treated area once dry, normally a few hours.

    Q
Does it kill cone nose beetles and safe around chickens who would eat the dead insects?
Our chickens free range and they would eat the dead insects. We are worried about them and the eggs they lay. My husband is deathly allergic to the cone nose beetle (AKA kissing bug) so we need a safe spray for chickens.
    A
We would recommend using Talstar P for kissing bugs. It is labeled to be used in poultry houses at the rate of 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. We would recommend keeping your chickens out of the area until it has dried.

    Q
Why can't Tempo SC and Suspend SC be delivered to CT anymore?
    A

Each state has their own regulations and unfortunately CT has very strict regulations that prevents us from shipping many products to the state. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Fortunately, we have many different products you can use that can be shipped to CT. Transport Mikron is the newest non-repellent product from FMC solutions and combines two of the most powerful insecticides on the market:  Bifenthrin and Acetamiprid. Transport Mikron provides a quick knock down of over 30 pests, while at the same time providing a long term residual you can count on. These two active ingredients give you a one, two punch that even pyrethroid resistant insects cannot live through.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra work towards killing fleas?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled to kill fleas using a rate of 8mL per 1000 sq ft or 12 fl oz per acre. Apply where pests have been seen or found, or can find shelter. Permitted areas include but are not limited to: home lawns, business complexes, apartment buildings, airports, cemeteries, parks, playgrounds, recreational fields, institutional grounds, athletic fields, and other landscape turf grass. In the outdoor flea treatment process it is recommended that you use two products together to get the expected results, a liquid insecticide such as Tempo SC Ultra to kill exposed fleas and an insect growth regulator (IGR) such as Archer or Nyguard that will stop immature fleas from reaching sexual maturity.

Whenever you have a moment I suggest taking a look at our guide on Flea Control, which explains how to successfully treat for fleas and the products recommended such as our Flea Kits for indoor and outdoor.

    Q
Can I use Tempo SC Ultra in my home there is a bad infestation in a rental property that I have
Tried all the local pest control people and nothing hope this works. Treating for roaches and spiders
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is safe to spray indoors around baseboards and cracks and crevices for the pests listed on the product label

For a roach infestation we would recommend our Roach Control Kit #1 in addition to the Tempo SC Ultra.  The Tempo will work very well for spiders as well.

The kit contains enough of each product to effectively treat an average home but severe infestations may take several months to eliminate and may require multiple treatments. Sanitation plays a key role in eliminating roach infestations as well. Be sure to wipe out sinks to remove moisture at the end of the night, vacuum and mop under and behind appliances to remove food debris, take out trash every night, limit food consumption to one room.

Please take a few minutes to read the hints and tips in our German Cockroach article to learn more about roach elimination.

Is Tempo SC Ultra effective at killing powderpost beetles?
I have powderpost beetles in some of the beams that support the hay loft in my old barn. Would Tempo SC Ultra be a good choice in treating them?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled for powderpost beetles. It is recommended that you apply the product at a rate of 16 ml per gallon of water. This can be reapplied every 7-10 days as needed.
