    Should I use Tenacity before or after aerating and overseeding?
    I'm starting to think about using my tenacity in September however I want to aerate and overseed my yard either before or after. What are your recommendations as to a timeline before after
    A

    If you are using Tenacity Herbicide as a pre-emergent herbicide, then you should aerate first and then apply Tenacity at the same time as seeding or just before. Do not wait until the new grass has started to come up before using Tenacity. If using Tenacity as a post-emergent, then you can apply anytime before seeding, but keep in mind that it may take a couple weeks to kill the target plants, so you would want to wait for those plants to die before aerating and reseeding.

    Yes, Tenacity Herbicide is labeled for wild violets. The rate for 1000 square feet is 1 teaspoon.

    Can I still apply Tenacity Herbicide to my lawn in Ohio in October?

    Tenacity Herbicide can be applied any time the weeds and grasses you are treating are still actively growing with temperatures consistently above 55 degrees. Please let us know if we can be of any more assitance.

    Can food coloring be added to Tenacity Herbicide? I want to keep track of where I have sprayed to avoid overlapping.

    Yes, some folks do use food coloring to mark where Tenacity Herbicide has been applied.  We do also carry Turf Mark Blue for this specific use.

    Should grass clippings be bagged after tenacity application, or left on lawn with mulching mower for 1st cut?

    It would be best if clipping were bagged after first mow and applicaion of 
    Tenacity Herbicide.  Bagging will also help with lawn health.

    How do I apply Tenacity Herbicide for Kentucky Bluegrass?
    "Unless renovating and/or re-seeding the home lawn, avoid broadcast applications of Tenacity for pre and post-emergence weed control because undesirable whitening of some turfgrasses may occur." What turfgrasses are susceptible to whitening? I have a Kentucky bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass mix.

    Tenacity Herbicide can cause lightening of turf grasses labeled as not tolerant. The application rate you should use to ensure the Kentucky Bluegrass and Ryegrass will not lighten is no more than 5oz per acre.

    Will Tenacity control Nutsedge grasses?

    Tenacity is labeled for control of Yellow Nutsedge grass only. Tenacity does not cover other species of nutsedge. We do carry Sedgehammer which was specifically formulated for nutsedge control.

    What is the maximum application temperature for Tenacity.
    Heat spell, but I need to get a second spraying on the weeds in the buffalo grass before it rains for the next week or two. Want to know if I can spray it at exterior temps over 90 degrees.

    How long does Tenacity Herbicide last as a pre-emergent?
    A

    Tenacity Herbicide does not last long as a pre-emergent, maybe about 30 days.  It does state on the prodouct label also to use straight pre-emergent products like Prodiamine for long residaul control as a pre-emergent.

    How much surfactant should I add to my 2 gallon tank sprayer when using Tenacity?
    A

    You did not mention which surfactant you are planning to use with the Tenacity.  The one that is most commonly recommended is the Southern Ag Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides, which requires 1-2 teaspoons per gallon of water.

    Sprayed lawn last night with Tenacity Herbicide to rid it of Bentgrass. When can I start cutting and watering it?

    You can water the lawn after the the Tenacity Herbicide has dried. You can mow your established lawn 2 days after Tenacity Herbicide application.

    How long after application of Tenacity Herbicide should I wait to reseed?
    I will be using Tenacity to control Nimblewill, and my lawn is perennial rye and fine fescue.

    Generally, if you are treating with Tenacity Herbicide and using a tolerant seed, the applications can be done at the same time. If not, we would recommend waiting three months after the application of Tenacity Herbicide to re-seed your lawn.     Which pre- emergent is best for control of nutsedge
    Every year i have problem with nutsedge weed. Can you suggest which pre- emergent is best to use.

    Nut sedge is a summer weed that is hard to control using a pre emergent. A great post emergent to ponder over is called Sedgehammer. SedgeHammer herbicide kills nutsedge without injury to turfgrass, established ornamentals, shrubs, and/or trees. SedgeHammer provides post-emergence control of both purple nutsedge and yellow nutsedge. SedgeHammer also controls many broadleaf weeds and suppresses kyllinga. Nutsedge is controlled after emergence in cool and warm season turf grasses such as St. Augustinegrass, Bermudagrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, tall and fine fescue, and perennial ryegrass. Sedgehammer is considered one of the more "gentle to turfgrass" products and pets and people can return to the treated area once the spray dries.

    Do I pull up white weeds after using Tenacity?
    Bought some tenacity from you and spot sprayed on my crabgrass. It has been white for about a week and seems to be dying. My question is, will it just disappear on its own once dead, or will I need to pull or rake the dead stuff eventually?

    No, We would not recommend pulling up any weeds because the product will not get into the root system, and the weeds may come back at that point. After spraying with Tenacity Herbicide, the foliage of treated weeds cease growth after application, then turn white(loss of chlorophyll), and death may take up to three weeks. A repeat application is required after two to three weeks for improved postemergence weed control.

    Could I apply Tenacity if the weed leaves are wet? Do I need to wait until the weed leaves are dried?

    It would be best to wait to apply Tenacity Herbicide once the leaves have dried. Be sure to mix in a surfactant like NonIonic Surfactant.

    Nimblewill and Crabgrass Post Emergent Treatment - Rain
    I want to do Post-Emergent Treatment of Nimblewill and Crabgrass cool season turf with mix of KYB, Fesue and Rye. What is the amount of time the Tenacity should dry before rain or irrigation? Should it be irrigated for Post-Emergent treatment? The overall area to be treated is 4300 sq ft. The weeds are dense in a 1600 sq ft area and then sparse (spot treat) through the rest of the turf . Is the dense weed area considered spot treatment, so that 1/2 tsp per gallon or is it consider large area treatment using the higher rate of 1 tsp per gallon ?
    A
    After treating with Tenacity you want the product to have at least 6 hours of dry time before any rain or irrigation occurs. You do not want/need to water after a post emergent application. We recommend using the spot treatment rate of Tenacity in the dense areas so as to not cause damage to your lawn. Tenacity is known due to its power to even with an accurate application to sometimes temporarily whiten the turf surrounding the weed areas. The color will normally return within 3-4 weeks so to minimize the chance of turf discoloration you will want to use the lower dose at first and be cautious to not overlap or too heavily apply the product.     How long should I wait to re-seed after I used Tenacity Herbicide?
    I had a lot of thick patches of nimble weed in my yard, I put on tenacity and it kill the nimble weed, but now it is brown.

    There is no wait time after applying Tenacity Herbicide to re-seed unless you are re-seeding with fine fescue. For fine fescue, it is recommended that you wait at least 30 days after application to re-seed.
