    Is Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide labelled for bedbugs?

    While Tengard SFR Termiticide and Insecticide is labelled for bedbugs, it would not be our top choice for bed bugs. Bedbugs require a combination of products and repeat applications every 7-10 days until you can go a full 30 days without seeing any signs of bed bugs.

    How long is the residual of Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide on baseboards if treating for Ghost Ants?
    A

    The residual of Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide can last up to 90 days indoors. If you are having a lot of ant activity you may need to add baits to your treatment. We recommend to read our article on How to Get Rid of Ants for more tips.

    Does Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide kill spittlebugs/froghoppers (cercopoidea)?

    Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide is not labeled for spittlebugs/froghoppers.

    We would recommend a product such as Talstar P at the rate of 0.25 to 0.5 fl oz per gallon of water. Please be sure to review the product label for complete application instructions.

    How do I get a longer residual from tengard?

    There is not a way to gain additional residual time from Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide . It should only be applied as directed.

    Can Tengard SFR be used on my horses pasture grass?
    I would like to kill the mosquitos in the pasture without killing my horse when he eats the grass.

    Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide should not be applied to grazing areas. For insect issues around pastures with grazing horses, your options are really limited. As a spray the only option we have is the Essentria All Purpose, which is a natural insecticide that will leave a residual.

    I've heard this is great for roaches. Is that true?
    A

    Yes, Tengard SFR would kill roaches and can be used indoors and outdoors. If you have an infestation inside of roaches, instead consider one of our Roach Control Kits as this would be a much more effective option along with non-chemical efforts for a successful program.     Tengard SFR  is oil-based so could leave an oily sheen on treated surfaces. It can not be used on windows.

    Can I use this product to kill boxwood psyllids
    A

    Per the product label, Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide is not labeled to treat psyllids. I would recommend Fertilome Tree and Shrub Systemic Insect Drench, Bonide Systemic Insect Control, or Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Insect Control.

    Will Tengard kill grasshoppers? Is it safe to use on all vegetable garden plants?

    Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide is not labeled to kill grasshoppers nor is it labeled for use on fruits or vegetables. We would recommend the product Hi-Yield 10% Indoor/Outdoor Permethrin instead.

    Tengard SFR is not specifically labeled to control squash vine borers. Instead, you may use a product such as Fertilome Triple Action. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions.

    How many ounces per gallon do I use to prevent mites on aspen trees?
    I need to spray aspen trees to prevent mites using Tengard SFR one-shot.
    A

    Tengard SFR Termiticide is not labeled for use against mites in trees so we could not give a mix rate for that purpose. You would want to use an insecticide labeled for mite control in landscaping and trees such as Onslaught Fastcap, or a specific miticide such as Avid Miticide for insects like spider mites.

    We would not advise eating from anything that was sprayed with Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide for at least a year

    Is Tengard safe for nesting birds?
    I have nesting birds is Tengard safe to use?

    Tengard SFR should not be applied near nesting birds. We recommend to apply where birds are not present. Birds are sensitive to Pyrethroids.

    Will this product kill cicada killer warps?
    A
    Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide is labeled for Wasp control. For cicada killer wasps, it is commonly recommended to use Delta Dust in each individual burrow. Cicada Killer wasps thrive in disturbed environments, such as landscaped yards and places where bare soil is exposed. You can discourage the wasps from nesting in your yard by cutting your grass in the highest setting and by adding a thick layer of mulch to flower beds during the Cicada Killer Wasp season. These wasps do not like over-saturated lawns either, so over-watering during their season will help prevent them. Unfortunately, there is no foolproof way to prevent cicada killer wasps.

     
    We also like to let our customers know that the Cicada Killer wasps are beneficial insects that provide free pest control for a couple of months each year. Cicada killer wasps paralyze and provision their burrows with other insects to feed their young.  The beneficial Cicada killer wasps, while large and intimidating to see, are mostly harmless and there have been very few reports of anyone getting stung by just being near them. In most cases where a sting was reported, the wasps were being held or molested in some way. Cicada Killer Wasp stings are also reported to be almost painless.
