    Q
Do I have to dig a trench around my pillow blocks under my house to treat for termites?
    A

If the pillow blocks are under the surface you will not need to dig around them for you treatment. You will want to focus on treating outside around the structure for your trenching area so that the solution will absorb into soil enough to leave a residual where the termites are migrating from. Please let us know if you need more information.

    Q
Do Exterminators still drill in the basement walls and sill plates?
    A

If the basement is finished, it is still recommended to drill into the walls and sill plates. We recommend to drill 1/2 wide hole every 12 inches and do your best to apply Termidor SC at the same rates as in the trench. 4 gallons mixed solution per 10 feet.

    Q
Can I use Termidor SC to treat Florida carpenter ants that have infested some of my trees?
I have ants in most of my trees and the trees are dying, so I need something I can spray on my trees and that won't bother my dogs
    A

For prevention and/or control of existing or future infestations of termites or carpenter ants in decking  and fencing materials, landscape timbers and similar nonstructural wood-to-soil contacts, trees, and utility poles, apply 0.06% Termidor SC finished dilution (or foam) by the following methods.

If possible, locate and treat the interior infested cavity by injection. Nonstructural wood-to-soil contacts may be treated as a spot application or continuous treated zone.

Apply Termidor SC to the soil as a drench or by rodding around the base of the points of soil contact. Rod holes must be placed 3-inches away from soil contact points and spaced no more than 12-inches apart along the perimeter of soil contact points.

  • Asked by Joel from Greenville, Nc

    Q
How much Termidor SC is needed around each cinder block support under a mobile home?
Upon inspection, there are three out of 20 cinder block supports under a mobile home that termites have crawled up. If I dig a 6" trench all the way around, this will result in 72" of trench. Based on the 10' rule, I'll need 2.4 gallons per cinder block support column?
    A

If you are trenching 6 feet around each column, you will need approx 4.5 gallons of mixed solution. To treat around 20 columns you will need approx. 48 gallons mixed solution. 1 bottle of Termidor will treat 60 feet of trenching.

    Q
Termidor sc mata las carcomas que hacen agujeros en la madera debajo de la casa?
    A

    Q
When using Termidor SC to treat a home on a slab, do you only treat the outside of the home via trench?
Do you also need to drill holes inside the perimeter of the home and apply there or only outside?
    A

When doing a termite treatment with Termidor SC, on a slab, the trenching method is going to be most effective. It is only necessary to drill holes if you have a garage, patio or any other contiguous slabs against your home. Please take a look at our Termite Treatment Guide

    Q
Can I use Termidor SC around trees with and without termite infestations?
    A

Unfortunately, Termidor SC is not labeled to be used in a tree application. Only up against a structure. If you need a product that can be used around trees we would recommend using a product like Dominion 2L Termiticide Concentrate which can be used in this type of application.

  • Asked by Gary from Oregon
    05/08/2017
    Q
If I use Termidor as an ant barrier spray and later use weed/moss killer over it, will the Termidor still be effective?
    A

You will want to give adequate time for the herbicide to dry and absorb into the plants you are treating with it before using another product over top. This will help to make sure there are no compatibility issues between the two products as well as to ensure the insecticide application does not wash away any of the herbicide you applied. Termidor SC should be applied only to the ground 1 foot out from the foundation and 1 foot up onto the structure.

    Q
Does Termidor work on controlling mosquitoes? Or does Talstar work better?
    A

Termidor SC is not labeled for mosquitoes nor can you use it on plants which is key when treating for them.  Talstar P would be a better option, be sure to apply to the underside of leaves of trees and bushes where adults lay during the day and if needed on the lawn for further control.

    Q
Can I use Termidor SC to treat for termites where my well is located in my basement?
How much product would I need to treat a 650 ft sq ft house?
    A

We recommend contacting our office for treatment recommendations as we will need more information in order to advise on the correct way to treat for termites with Termidor SC . The depth of the basement walls, how close the well is to the exterior wall, and how many linear feet you are treating around the exterior. The square footage is not important as you need to know how many linear feet it is around the exterior of the home. You may reach us at 1-866-581-7378 Mon - Fri 9am-5pm EST.
