    Q
Is Termidor SC safe to spray outdoor?
To spray outdoor of home. What if there's plants bushes around house, can I spray along the perimeter of that?....
    A
Termidor SC should have no effect on plants that are inadvertently sprayed with the product. It is important to read and follow the Termidor SC product label which states that you can only treat one foot up from and one foot out from where the ground meets the structure. The label also recommends that you remove or prune away plants, shrubs or tree branches that touch the structure. Vegetation that comes into contact with the structure may offer a route of entry for the ants allowing them to enter the structure without ever having come into contact with the treated area.

  • Asked by Chris from Long Beach, Ca

    Q
I have dry wood termites in a live tree and want to try to rid the tree of tremites. What is the best product?
    A

Termites do not normally attack live, healthy trees so you most likely will not find any products that will work as a ground barrier around the trees.  Most people are primarily concerned with protecting the big investment, their home, and Termidor SC would be the product to use for that.  It is only labeled to be used adjacent to the structure though.  Please take a moment to read over our article on "How to do a Termite Treatment" for complete details.

  • Asked by Travis from Olympia, Wa

    Q
I recently got rid of terminex, what should I use as a perimeter/band treatment?
They were using something with IMIDACLOPRID, CYFLUTHRIN 0.075%
    A
By far our most popular liquid Termiticide is Termidor SC with Fipronil active ingredient. For termites, you want to dig a 6inx6in trench all the around the perimeter of the structure. Please see our Termidor Application instructions on the product page.  If you are wanting to use a product for general pest control Talstar is always a great product that covers many different pest and can be applied outdoors and indoors. Let us know if you have any more questions.

    Q
Can I use Termidor SC without diluting it? Will using without dilution be effective?
I found a subterranean mud mount.
    A
Termidor SC must be diluted with water and applied in a trench on the exterior of the structure for the most effective treatment of subterranean termites. Please refer to the article below for specific treatment information. It includes a lot of great information that you will find helpful. • Asked by Dale from Fort Myers, Fl
    04/21/2014
    Q
How much damage can termites do in one year?
I have baited my house for termites and it says that it could take from 6 to 24 months to kill the colony. I need to know if I need to do something else, so I need to know how much damage they can do in the 6 to 24 month period.
    A
Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to say how much damage can be done in a year because it depends on the size of the colony. However, termite damage is normally not very fast. For your situation we would recommend performing an in ground soil treatment with a product like Termidor or Fuse. These two products when performed correctly will most likely kill the entire colony within 90 days.

Occasionally I have fire ants mounds in our yard. We use Talstar granules but it alone does not same to be enough.

    Q
    Applying along garden bed
I have a few rose bushes along one side of the house (2 feet away and I don't think the roots will be a problem i.e alow for a breach) I want to trench right up against the house however will constant watering over time make the solution ineffective (dilute)? Thank you
    A
If you do a trench around the foundation of the home with the Termidor, you would need to let it dry for at least 24-48 hours after applying before any form of rain or irrigation. Once the Termidor has dried completely it will be there for at least 10-15 years protecting the home and watering of your plants next to the home will not dilute it or make it inneffective.

    Q
What procedure do I use when concrete steps are in the way of drilling Termidor treatment holes?
Steps for entering house are in the way for drilling perimeter of concrete patio for Termidor. Is it okay to keep the recommended hole pattern and drill around the concrete steps. Steps protrude away from house 3 feet and this is the site of known termites.
    A
The steps should be drilled as well to apply the Termidor SC if possible. We recommend that you drill the holes 10-12" apart and disperse 4 gallons of finished solution every 10 lineal feet.

  • Asked by Dave from Mt. Airy, Nc
    06/11/2014
    Q
Do I also need to trench-treat around all of my pressure treated deck posts/steps that are attached to house with Termidor SC also?
    A
Termidor SC should be applied to the trench directly around the structure and in drilled holes in the concrete that is attached to the structure. You may need to remove some boards if they are close to the home to access the soil directly up against the foundation for the trenching.

  • Asked by Yuriy from Yonkers, Ny
    06/15/2014
    Q
Is a 6" trench enough if you have a below ground level basement?
The instruction manual for termidor is a little confusing when the foundation of the house is below grade. They seem to suggest going 4ft deep with rods. Is a 6" trench enough protection if you have a basement?
    A
Yes, the trench should be 6" by 6" around the perimeter of that basement. With the rods, it is stating that it needs to be at least 4 ft below the ground.. That is if you are rodding.
