    Q
How is Transport Mikron a non-repellent product?
What is this "transfer" effect that is mentioned for acetamiprid? Trophallaxis? Also, I've heard that this product can be considered a non-repellant...but bifenthrin is a pyrethroid repellent. Does the particular formulation keep the bifenthrin from being a repellent?
    A
When we called FMC and asked about your question, they told us that Transport Mikron is a non-repellent and that since the two compounds are combined in a lab, the bifenthrin is not in a repellent form.  They do not make this product by combining Talstar with Acetamiprid like what you might think.  They combine acetamiprid with bifenthrin in a molecular combination in a lab, and are able to form a non-repellent product.  It would be similar to water.  There is always hydrogen and oxygen around us, but when you combine them they make something completely different...water.

    Q
    Transport Mikron vs. Cynoff EC
What's the difference between these two products? There seems to be a lot of overlap in their targets.
    A
Both products contain an active ingredient that is from the synthetic pyrethroid class of insecticides. Transport Mikron has a second active ingredient Acetamiprid which can offer a knockdown to pests that may be resistant to synthetic pyrethroids.

  • Asked by Lynne from Cokato, Mn

    Q
After treatment of Transport Mikron, how long is it effective?
My home was treated with Transport Mikron by a professional. The warranty was for 90 days. Coverage was the entire floors and legs of beds and dressers, chairs, etc. Box springs and mattresses were sprayed also. It's been 48 days since the spraying and I've had three bad nights. The first 2 days after and then 2 weeks after that. Each time less bites with the explanation that they die after biting because of contact. The last one however was one month later. So now I wonder how long the spray is effective? They now want me to find a live bug in order to come out and spray a 2nd time.
    A

We cannot comment on the treatment performed by a professional exterminator. Transport Mikron will last up to 90 days indoors. If you are treating for bedbugs, Transport Mikron should not be the sole product applied for treatment. Please review our bedbug treatment guide and video for additional treatment information by clicking the links below.

  • Asked by Chris from Florida

    Q
I am using Transport Mikron to treat for bed bugs. How many days before I can reapply?
I cant seem to find that on the label anywhere.
    A

Transport Mikron Insecticide can provide up to a 90-day residual inside and would only be applied that often. If you are treating for bedbugs, Transport Mikron (even with Gentrol) should not be the sole that you use for treatment. Please review our bedbug treatment guide and videos for additional treatment information by clicking the link here.  In general treatments for bed bugs are done every 2 weeks with some products until you can go 30 days without being bitten or seeing evidence.

    Q
Can we wipe up the residue of Transport Mikron Insecticide?
We just sprayed baseboards in our house. We can see a little residue left behind and have kids and dogs...is it okay to wipe up or will that completely defeat the purpose of spraying in the first place?
    A

Transport Mikron Insecticide should not be wiped up after application.  Doing this would remove the product and will and defeat the purpose of having appliled it.

    Q
Does Transport Mikron Insecticide kill northern fowl bird mites?
I have a bird mite infestation. Does this product kill them? Does it kill eggs and adults? Does it work on contact? Or does the residual kill them? For example if I spray my carpet and they are hiding out on the baseboards and come into the carpet will it kill them and if so how quickly?
    A

Transport Mikron Insecticide is not specifically labeled for birds mites; it is only labeled for clover mites and spider mites. It is not a contact kill but does provide a residual after application.

  • Asked by Dan from Payson, Utah
    07/27/2012
    Q
Will Transport Mikron work for Carpet Beetles?
    A
Transport Mikron is labeled for carpet beetles and will help eliminate them. It is very important that the source of the infestation (where the damaging larva is harboring) is discovered and eliminated, not just the visible adult insects you see wandering around. Until you find out what that is and deal with it you will continue to get more of the carpet beetles emerging from hiding. Carpet beetles may be as likely to feed on grain based food materials as they are on animal byproducts. Pet foods stored in forgotten places, baking goods left too long in the cupboard, rodent baits tossed in the attic - all of these are quite susceptible to carpet beetle feeding. Plus, you also have the typical carpet beetle diets of dead insects (wasp nests in the attic, dead insects in window sills), feathers (bird nests, dead birds), hair (dead rodents, wool products, trophy mounts), and other things made from animal byproducts. Once the source of the infestation is removed or cleaned, using Transport Mikron will help get rid of the annoying adult beetles. You can spray once a month until all of the beetles are gone.

  • Asked by John
    01/13/2018
    Q
Can I spray Temprid SC and when dried, spray Transport Mikron Insecticide?
    A

No, we do not recommend to spray Transport Mikron over the areas that have been sprayed with Temprid SC. Both products contain active ingredients that are from the synthetic pyrethroid class of insecticides. Both insecticides offer a second active ingredient which can offer a knockdown to pests that may be resistant to synthetic pyrethroids, so using both products at the same time would be overkill and counter-effective. If you want to use both these products, then it would be better to use them in rotation rather than at the same time.

    Q
Is it necessary to use an IGR formula in addition to the Transport Mikron Insecticide?
    A

Using an IGR like Gentrol is pertinent in making sure you halt the infestation. You can mix the Gentrol and Transport together in the same gallon of water and spray them at the same time.
