The tank and lid are good, but the wand is way to short for spraying close to the ground plants like butternut squash, cucumbers and green beans. The pressure release valve leaked air almost as fast as I could pump it the first time I tested it. I couldn't tighten it enough to stop the leaking and had to use a rubber sealant under the washer.

A Reasonable Sprayer
By John on 05/20/2013
Ordered 1 and 2 Gallon XP sprayers. I like it well enough but there are a couple of issues for me. One is the trigger. It seems to be perfectly set up to pinch my finger on release. Also, the quantity markings on the side of the container are molded in the plastic and are hard to see. I am going to try highlighting them with black marker. The other thing is the cap/pump assembly. The pump handle locks when turning clockwise to tighten. But when you are removing the cap, the handle pops out of the lock position and extends as if to pump. Awkward at best. I had a Hudson that was probably $20-$30 that had better ergonomics than this. This is a heavier duty unit than that one though.

Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer
By Anonymous on 07/15/2013
Seems to be a nice sturdy unit, far superior to the junk sprayers at the retail box stores. I'm not as impressed with the spray pattern as I had hoped - it's nice but not fantastic. Since this is new to me the 3 stars represents my perception of the quality vs. the price.

Leaking Chapin
By Henrydelgado on 06/23/2022
Didn't know this If not using a B & G sprayer . All sprayers will leak when releasing trigger. Not a big concern when using outdoor .
Expert response:
The Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer (#21220XP) like most pump sprayers does not have a shut off valve so can leak. We would recommend holding the sprayer upward right after releasing the handle so the liquid flows back down and less leaking.
Ok sprayer, tips over when empty and wand too short
