Pasture Pro Herbicide is not labeled for sandburs.The best method of treatment for sandburs is with a pre-emergent before the sandburs germinate. A good option for a pre-emergent would be Surflan AS Herbicide, but please refer to the product label to be sure it's safe for the type of grass you have. You can check Ferti-Lome Weed Out with Crabgrass Killer as it is labeled for goathead which is another name for sandbur. Pasture Pro Herbicide states on the product label: May be applied to newly seeded perennial grasses or to the newly seeded grasses grown with a companion/cover crop such as small grains. Postemergent applications of this product are recommended only after the 5 to 6 leaf stage of the grass seedlings. Or, do not apply this product prior to the beginning of the tillering of the perennial grass seedlings. Perennial grasses have shown tolerance to this product when the grass seedlings have tillered and have developed an adequate secondary roo system.
