Termidor SC will kill carpenter bees, but it really is only labeled to be applied 1 foot up and 1 foot out around the perimeter of a structure. It would be better to use our Carpenter Bee Control Kit instead.
Anytime you are adding soil on top of soil that was previously treated with Termidor SC, you need to be sure to also treat that new soil so it is still protected. We recommend applying the Termidor SC in a trench with the soil that is and will be directly up against the foundation of the treated structure. Please refer to the termite treatment article for full instructions on treatment
Termidor SC binds with soil and can stay in the soil up to 10 years. We highly recommend to contact the manufacturer BASF 800-526-1072 since it was applied in an off-label manner.
Due to the nature of Termidor SC it would not be advisable to mix it with anything else. Adding in other products could decrease the non repellency effect of Termidor SC.
No, Termidor SC is not labeled for scorpions.
We would recommend using Cy-Kick CS. This is a residual product that can be used indoors and outdoors for scorpions. The mixing ratio is 1-2 fl. oz. per gallon of water.
Termidor SC should not be applied in a fogger per the label. It can be applied up against the structure topically for crawling insects and in the soil and drilled holes for termite control. Please refer to the product label for full mixing and appliction instructions.
As we apologize for the inconvenience the Termidor SC is available in a 20 ounce container that can create up to 24 gallons of mixed solution. Please let us if you need anything else.
No, Termidor SC is not labeled for use for any ornamental pests, including bagworms. You can browse our Bagworm Control products here.
The manufacturer of Termidor SC recommends that you use the diluted solution within 24 hours. The longer the product sits in a solution the less effective it will become. Also, leaving chemicals or even just plain water in a hand pump sprayer can cause the seals and gaskets to breakdown. This will eventually require you to purchase a repair kit for the sprayer or even a whole new sprayer much faster than someone that had properly maintained their sprayer.
When using Termidor SC for ant control, you want to make sure the ants are contacting the treated area. If they are traveling on top of the rock and fabric topical application is fine. If not, you would need to take the material back and then apply and replace.
While Termidor SC is a non repellent insecticide and most others are repellent, as long as you are thoroughly rinsing the sprayer between products it should be fine. We would recommend triple rinsing all parts of the sprayer before changing products.
Termidor SC should be mixed with water and dispersed in a hand pump sprayer. It does not contain an attachment for a water hose on the container.
We recommend trenching with Termidor SC because it binds to the soil and creates a continuous barrier. Most members of termite colonies remain hidden and there are often multiple colonies, so if you only treat one area where you visibly see them, there is no way to ensure that all the termites will encounter the amount of Fipronil needed to eliminate a colony. While Termidor does have a transfer effect, the idea is to create a barrier and as the termites travel through the treatment, they will absorb enough of the active chemical used in the treatment and then die.
Termidor SC is labeled to control roaches but it is not labeled for indoor use. We would recommend that you use one of our Roach Control Kits to ensure that you have everything necessary for a complete treatment. Please also look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing roaches.
A good option would be to use granules, such as Demand G Granules. They can be applied around the perimeter of your home outdoors to control ants. This product does need to be watered in for it to be activated so during the rainy season, this would be ideal until it dries up and you can use the Termidor SC.
In the areas where you cannot treat with a liquid treatment such as Termidor, we would advise using a termite bait station such as the such as the HexPro Termite Baiting station. This will help you keep areas that cannot be treated with the liquid treatment monitiored.
The shelf life of Termidor SC is generally 3-5 years if kept sealed and stored in a cool, dry place.
Sometimes the ground is slow to soak up the Termidor SC you place in the holes. You may need to fill the holes, then go work on something else for an hour, come back and fill them again, go work on something else.....3 to 4 times to get the proper amount down the holes.
"Not a knock down product" means that Termidor SC will not kill wasps or other pests immediately on contact. Termidor does not give a fast knockdown but it does transfer back to the nest to eliminate the other wasps inside the nest. You should see complete results within 1-3 weeks depending on the size of the wasp colony when using Termidor. Termite prevention with Termidor SC is a completely different application, however. It would be a good idea for you to take a look over our Termite Prevention Guide to see the options and the steps involved.
Termidor SC is only labeled to be used up against a structure and not for any type of lawn application. We would recommend a product like Cyzmic CS. Cyzmic CS is a water-based insecticide concentrate that provides excellent control of dozens of insect pests in a powerful micro-encapsulated formulation with long-lasting control and little to no odor.
