    Q
What is the best product to clean and prevent moss and algae on plastic decking and vinyl siding?
    A

30 Seconds Outdoor Cleaner would be a good choice for cleaning moss from these areas.  The only prevention method really is really eliminating the moisture issues that are allowing the moss and algae to develop and thrive.

  • Asked by Wes from Panama City, Fl
    01/06/2021
    Q
Are there added chemicals in the ready-to-use sprayer of 30 Seconds Outdoor Cleaner as opposed to the concentrate?
I understand that the concentrate needs to be diluted with 1:1 water and that the ready-to-use sprayer just needs to be connected to a hose. I was just wondering if there were added chemicals to the sprayer product, like a surfactant or another cleaning agent. The reason I ask is I notice a huge difference between the two when cleaning mildew off my roof eaves. The Sprayer is extremely effective whereas the concentrate needs added scrubbing, and even after scrubbing it doesn't look as good as the ready-to-use sprayer's results. I have areas that the sprayer can not reach, that is why I'm using the concentrate.
    A

30 Seconds Outdoor Cleaner Concentrate formula contains the same active ingredient as the ready-to-use formula, Sodium Hypochlorite.  However, the proprietary and inert ingredients are not listed on the product label for either formula.  You may wish to contact Collier Manufacturing directly at 503-669-1953, or via their contact page here for specific product questions and concerns.

The main ingredient in 30 Seconds Outdoor Cleaner is bleach. Why not just make a 5% solution of bleach?

While Bleach has been known to clean various surfaces, we cannot comment on using in the same way as the product. Please contact the manufacturer here for specifics on their product in comparison to bleach and more details.

  • Asked by Marcus from Fort Payne
    03/15/2021
    Q
Is this 30 second cleaner safe on a newly sealed wooden deck? Or would i have to reseal the deck after using ?
    A
While 30 Seconds Cleaner should not remove a sealant on a deck, it could potentially remove a stain. Per the product label, you should always test an inconspicuous area first to check for any potential bleaching or other discoloration. If you are needing to clean and seal a deck, then we recommend using the cleaner first to remove and stains, mildew, etc. before applying a sealant.
