Per the Vessel 3 Way Herbicide label, when treating Bermuda grass you can apply 1.0 - 1.5 ounces per 1000 sq. ft, so on the low end you would use 30 ounces in your 40 gallons of water, on the high end you can add 45 ounces in your 40 gallons of water, to treat 30,000 sq. ft.
If you are actually treating only 3,000 sq. ft, then you would use 3.3 ounces in your 40 gallons of water and 4.5 ounces in your 40 gallons of water.
