The Actisol and other similar aerosol units are primarily used indoors as crack and crevice treatment for flusing and killing insects. You can use just about any liquid concentrate in it, although it is not recommended to use wettable powders (WP, WPS, DF formulations) or encapsulated (CS) formulations since these can clog the machine and will not dispense as easily. A product like ExciteR is excellent for flushing and contact kill in an Actisol. For a longer residual treatment, you could use a pyrethroid product like Tempo SC Ultra in it.
We also have a great online Roach Treatment Guide here with more tips and product recommendations.
We would not recommend using an Actisol or similar unit outdoors for flying insect control. Please refer to our Fly Treatment Guide and Mosquito Treatment Guide for more tips on eradicating these pests.
You can use either water-based or oil-based products in the Actisol Compact Portable Aerosol Unit - Quick Disconnect & 18 in. Wand. ULD BP 300 is an oil-based solution.
