Advance seems to work, but that is no excuse for the price increases. That I shouldn't wish termites to eat my home appears to require that I permit them to eat my wallet. Some option. Keep it up, Advance, and back to Orkin I go.

Basically wood bait in the plastic station. Waste of money.

It is not abnormal to see ants in or around your termite bait stations. Applying granular ant bait around the stations where you have seen the ants is the preferred treatment, since you are then supplying an active ingredient that will transfer throughout the ant colony. Too early to tell if Advance should get more stars. Installed a week ago, have 11 more weeks to go to check if termites hit the bait. If this was a two part question, first part being the installation, then I would give it 5 stars. Installation couldn't be easier. So, until I see how well it performs in killing termites, I have to be conservative with 3 stars.

I only installed a few stations so far - in the areas we've seen a lot of activity in the mulch. The video on the DoMyOwnPestControl website provided installation instructions that were very helpful and it was easy to install (hopefully we did it right!). After a few weeks passed, we checked to see how things were going. 2 of the stations had no activity in or around the area where we put the stations -- not sure if it was because of the bait or just due to normal changes in termite activity. 1 of the stations had been dug out by some animal and had lots of activity around the station, but it was hard to tell if any of the termites were actually in the station itself. So, I put the stations back in the ground today. We'll see how it goes!! If this works, it's a much better option that having Terminex charge us $2,000 to do the same thing.

Installed 20 Advanced Termite Bait System traps over 2 days, using just a garden trowel. The instructional videos by DoMyOwn were excellent. To be sure, I also found training material by BSAF the manufacturer for their sales reps on youtube and I can tell you the DoMyOwn video instructional video was dead on. I only gave the traps 3 stars because I have not seen them in action yet. Ordering and shipping was a breeze. Everything arrive fast and well packed. I did have one of the traps flood during a rain storm. I realized the water was pooling around the trap because it was in a depression. Adding some topsoil around the trap fixed the problem. So as a point of advice make sure you don't install them in depressions.

The verbiage is confusing regarding the 2different chemicals included. One is a “monitor” chemical & the other is a “bait” with only 0.50% of active ingredient!! No poison. I really don't want to bait& monitor termites. I was thinking this kills the colony it seems very confusing.

Everything came as promised and I installed them as the instructions said. Now for the waiting game. They look like a nice system but you have to wait to see if they work!

The installation video was dead on with everything spelled out. Installed 15 of the 20 stations around our house and am installing the remaining 5 around our out building. Installation was quick and easy. I have not had them long enough for the quarterly checks so we will see how that goes. I had a similar product professionaly installed in our old home. The bid for this house was around $1000 with a yearly inspection fee on top of that. Providing this does what is supposed to do, this is a great savings.

So far the stations are working fine was a easy instalation and giving it time to take effect they were put in on May 8, 2012 and giving it time for the termites to find them. I should be checking them by May 25, 2012 Friday if active than i will put the insectiside bait in and check back in two weeks.

Installed the stakes about a month ago. Even though instructions suggested checking after 90 days, I checked after 1 week and found one trap (out of 20) already infested with termites. I replaced bait with poison and will check soon to see what the results are.

I did a lot of research and found this system to be one of the best for do it yourselfers. All parts seem to be of high quality. I used the Home Depot Spectracide stuff before. The termites were going through it like crazy...and my deck too. Only had this in for two weeks, so I'll write an update when I see results.

I bought the 15 station kit because it has everything you need and it is much cheaper than buying it a peice at a time. The product was easy to install but does take o some effort to dig the holes. I wasn't able to find a 2 1/2 inch auger bit so I dug the holes by hand. In 45 days I'll check my bait station for activity and go from there. For now the station are tamper proof and flush with the ground so i don't need to worry about the kids or animals disturbing them.

The only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars is because I have to give it some time to really evaluate! I bought a garden auger that goes on my drill to help make the holes, and the assembled product in the ground is very sturdy. Am very happy with how you check the system and having the bait on hand to use if necessary. It seems like a GREAT product. Instructions are very complete.

Had the 10 bait stations installed in less than an hour. Very simple process. Time will tell on the effectiveness. 4 stars for ease of install.

I just received this system and installed it a week ago. Will say installation was much easier than I anticipated. Time will tell how effect it is but I'm feeling optimistic.

I installed my bait stations about 6 weeks ago. Yesterday I checked them for the 1st time and found termites in 2 stations. Almost all stations had small slugs in them just hanging out and being slimy. If the termites eat the poison then I would say we have a winner. Looks like the stations will be successful.

Too soon for me to tell if the termite bait system is doing it`s work,as I just installed the system recently;But I have to say,that the instructions were well detailed,and not to difficult to install,i just hope it works.The packaging of the bait system,was done exceptionally well,and delivery of it was prompt.

Very thing looks very professional, and I have no doubt these stations will get the job done! A little harder to get in the ground than I expected, but with my sons help we got them done in only a few hours!

Company service is reliable. Not sure about the performance of the product and hopefully, I won't find out, but the product comes already packaged so all you have to do is dig a hole and place it. Very easy process.

I did extensive research on baiting systems and settled in on the Advance Termite Bait System, based on its many advantages. DoMyOwnPestControl is great.  The stuff was shipped in one or two days. Fortunately, UPS Ground delivers to me from the Atlanta area within the next day of shipping. I would definitely buy from this web site again.

Seven weeks later, September 11, 2008; Of the 14 stations that I installed, 6 were hit with termites. Four monitoring cartridges were entirely consumed; 90% of one was gone, and 50% of the fifth. 6 bait cartridges were installed. I was skeptical, at first. But, the Advance Termite Bait System really works.

Very happy with the system; Have used a different system in the past and when I compared the advance system to it; it was superior in every way. Very easy to install. I thought I was going to have to use an auger but first tried with a post hole digger and that worked fine. Installed 14 stations in 50 minutes..... very easy!

I had a company install and monitor stations for several years, it was expensive. I decided to do it myself. It was as easy as the video shows, the post hole digger is perfect for the job. These stations are wider and seem of better quality and design than those used by the commercial company whose little lids would get lose and get sucked up into the lawn mower.
