    Q
Can I use Agrisel BioPhos Pro Systemic Fungicide for Little Gem Magnolia and Boxwood?
Would it be appropriate to use this product as a soil drench for Boxwood Blight that is spreading through a bed that also contains Little Gem Magnolias. The boxwoods are turning brown and some Magnolias leaves have black spots, others are yellowing, turning brown, and falling off. Are there other products you would recommend to save my landscaping? Thank you.
    A

Agrisel BioPhos Pro Systemic Fungicide should be used both as a soil drench in water applied to the root zone and as a foliar spray to run-off on listed plants. For root treatment, use 2 Tbs per gallon of water. For foliar spray, use 4 Tbs per gallon of water and apply to runoff. Both boxwoods and magnolias are listed as tolerant species on the product label of this fungicide. We do recommend identifying the specific issues with your plants for best results so that you have a complete treatment plan.

  • Asked by Mark from Lihue, Hawaii
    02/05/2015
    Q
Can BioPhos Pro be injected into avocados trees to kill root rot? How much per application?
    Phytopthora
    A

Per the Product Label for how to apply to Avocados for Root Rot(Phytopthora): Make four preventative foliar applications with spray volumes of 125-300 gal/acre; twice (at 10 to 14 day intervals) in each of two root growth seasons (usually May and July). Avoid applying during period of foliar growth.

We are unsure if it is safe to apply it directly to the root zone as mentioned on other edibles it has been tested for on the label. You will want to contact the manufacturer directly at (770) 831-4160.

Is the spray nozzle included with the BioPhos calibrated to use directly on the bottle of fungicide?
    A

The Agrisel BioPhos Pro Systemic Fungicide does not come with any spray nozzle on the bottle at all. This is a concentrated product that you would mix in a tank sprayer to apply to the appropriate disease at the rates listed on the Product Label.

For control of Phytophthora root rot make foliar applications at 1-2% v/v up to run-off.
