I am treating a pole barn for termites. It has tin siding, where should i trench?

Could I just dig a trench around the wooden poles and treat that area or do I need to treat the entire distance around the outside and with dirt floor treat the inside also. I have seen several termites on wood while doing matience work on the pole barn. It is just a storage barn. But I do want to get rid of the termites.

Answer:

You really only need to be concerned about the wood.  So this means you should only trench and treat around the poles in the ground.  You do not have to trench around the tin if there is no other wood in close proximity. Please see our Termite Treatment Article.
