Tom from Prospect, Ky writes

I applied Prowl H20 about 48 days prior to planting a food plot mixture of sunflowers & cow peas, and spring oats, after 3 weeks I have little to ant plant growth. could the application od prowl have prevented my seeds from growing. I used a no till drill to plant.

Answer:

It is possible that an application of too much Prowl H2O Herbicide could prevent the germination of seeds that are usually tolerant of the herbicide. While there are uses for sunflower and cowpea on the full product label, wild oats are listed as a target weed. So it is possible for the Prowl to prevent germination of the oats. For the cowpeas and other edible beans, there is a table with incorporation rates according to your soil type on page 22 of the product label.
