    Q
Will Aqua Neat kill lily pads?
Lake is 9ft at it's deepest point, lake is less than 10 acres
    A

Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide should at least suppress water lily, but it may not be the best option to control this plant. It is also not specifically labeled to control this plant. A better choice would Aquasweep, which contains triclopyr and 2,4-D. You can learn more about managing this plant in this article.

    Q
Can I use Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide when the lake bottom is exposed prior to it's refilling?
Lake is down now and can see green plant stems in soil.
    A

Yes, you can use Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide, however for more of a broad sprectrum solution you could also add in Roundup Custom Aquatic Terrestrial Herbicide which would broaden the types of weeds it will kill.  If you are using Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide by itself you would want to treat the weeds 1 week before refilling, however if you are using the Aqua Neat along with the Roundup you would want to treat the weeds 48 hours before refilling the lake.

    Q
How does Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide break down in the soil?
By what mechanism does it actually break down after binding with soil and how long does it take? Is breakdown by physical or biological means, and if the latter is it microbes/fungi etc. and what sort of effect does it have on them? I use it in my job taking care of stormwater retention areas and would like to know more detail about why it's considered safer than some other herbicides. Thanks very much.
    A

    Q
You say Aqua Neat neutralizes once it hits water, but should be mixed with water. How does this work?
Also, if a large volume of Aqua Neat was applied to my property due to massive growths of Japanese knotweed and proximity to conserved wetlands, and my house uses well water, is the well water safe to drink?
    A

Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide is an Aquatic Herbicide, and it is specifically designed for safe use in areas where aquatic life will be present. Once you mix with water it will start to break down after 24 hours.  Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide is a concentrate so it can be mixed with water but will only be absorbed by vegetation. So it will cling to vegetation and neutralize when it comes in contact with water. Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide should not be applied over a well and applications should be made at least 15 feet away from the well.

    Q
Will Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide kill canary reed grass?
We have a low-lying area (classified, I think, as wet prairie) that is solid canary reed grass. It abuts a watershed creek so the aquatic-safe feature is important to me. Thank you.
    A

Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide is labeled to treat canary grass. Per the label, "- Apply 3 to 4-1/2 pints of this product per acre as a broadcast spray or as a 3/4 percent solution with hand-held equipment. Apply when target plants are actively growing and most have reached the boot-to-head stage of growth. When applied prior to the boot stage, less desirable control may be obtained. In the fall, apply before plants have turned brown." Please see the label for full applications instructions.
