  • Asked by Felipe from Newtown, Ct
    03/11/2019
    Q
The label mentions "Use only surfactants approved for ornamental plants", what about grasses such as TTTF?
    A

When applying Azoxy 2SC Select to turf grass, you will not need a surfactant unless you are treating for dollarspot. For soil borne diseases that would affect turf grass, the fungicide needs to make contact with the soil so it can go into the roots of the grass. If you use a surfactant, it will stick the fungicide to the grass blades and will not make the required contact with the soil.  Using a surfactant would only be beneficial for air borne diseases that typically do not affect turf grass.

  • Asked by Wayne from Orlando, Florida

    Q
What can I use for Pythium Root Rot?
Resodded with sod from wet area. Sod has this disease. Our home is in a dry area, but the rains brings this Pithium Root Rot back active. I have used fungicide with very little results. The grass is slowly dying.
    A

Pythium root rot will flourish in wet soil conditions, so if you know there are areas that tend to flood, then it would be best to address the grading and/or soil in those areas for long-term control. Fungicides are best applied preventatively for this disease. Azoxy 2SC Select is one of our most popular choices for this disease. This article from your Florida Extension has excellent details about cultural control of this disease as well. Keep in mind that this disease is naturally present on warm-season grass roots.

  • Asked by Jeffrey from Statesville, Nc
    06/01/2021
    Q
What is the mix rate for treating brown patch in fescue lawn using Azoxy 2SC Select Fungicide?
    A

According to the product label you will want to apply Azoxy 2SC Select Fungicide at a rate of .38 oz to .77 oz per 1,000 sqft. Since water acts as the carrier to distribute the fungicide, the amount of water you use will be based on how much water it takes for you to evenly and thoroughly cover a 1000 sq ft area. We recommend doing a mock test with plain water first to determine how much water you need for 1000 sq ft. Please view our How to Calibrate Your Sprayer Video for instructions on how to do this if needed.

  • Asked by Bob from Jacksonville, Fl

    Q
Is Azoxy 2SC Select a Strobilurin Fungicide?
I want a Strobilurin Fungicide. I would like to get the least expensive version of a Strobilurin Fungicide, any brand. I will test it on a 3ft by 30 ft flower bed. A premiere daylily expert said that Strobilurin Fungicide sprayed on daylilies make them grow like on steroids and I want to test it. Don't need it for disease control. Thanks!
    A

Azoxy 2SC Select contains the active ingredient Azoxystrobin which is a Strobilurin Fungicide.  It is only labeled/intended to be used a fungicide and there is no information or proof that it would act as a steriod to increase plant growth.

  • Asked by Brian from Dimondale Mi
    03/17/2021
    Q
Can Azoxy 2 SC be used in a hose end sprayer?
    A

While a hose end sprayer is not recommended for applications where you need to be specific in how much chemical is being spread over a certain amount of area to work correctly, it can be done if that is the only option. The requirement for your hose end sprayer is that it has a dial that you can select the mix rate for, and that the settings on that dial go low or high enough for the use rate given on the product label, next to the disease name you are trying to control. As long as those parameters apply, you can use the Azoxy 2SC Select Fungicide in that unit.
