    Q
Will steaming remove insecticide spray of Temprid SC or Phantom?
If I steamed along baseboards and carpet will it remove the Temprid SC spray or Phantom. Should I only stream every 7 to 10 days? For Temprid SC and every 4 weeks for Phantom?
    A

Steaming can remove any insecticides such as Temprid SC or Phantom applied to areas and should only be done before applications are made.  Treatments with Temprid can be done every 14 days, Phantom once a month.

    Q
Follow up question on treatment of bed bugs with various products.
We live in a house on a slab and have had problems with many different insects in the home before self treatment. The bed rooms and living room were initially treated but only the bedrooms the last six months as this is where the bites occur overnight. We have seen a mite but couldn?t identify if it was dust or rodent. We have had problems with ground squirrels digging near the foundation and suspected but no evidence. We did see two dead adults bed bugs last year and several cast skins on the bed as recently as last December but none since then. There is evidence of fecal spotting on the headboard, under dresser but these appear older..none recent. Other than nearly daily bites (usually 1 a day) and rare blood spotting, there has been no other evidence of bed bugs since late last year. The bites usually stop for a couple days after a product is sprayed. One thing to note, the products we used mentioned previously have killed every other insect in the home. We see a stray ant or spider once every couple months but that?s it. However none has stopped the bites so we?re at a loss what to do now
    A
We think the first thing you must do is get a proper identification of the pest you are dealing with. Treatments vary greatly from pest to pest and a mistaken identification can lead to a prolonged infestation. We recommend that you place glueboards out where ever you suspect activity and then submit the glueboards to an entomologist. Even if an insect cannot be seen with the naked eye, the entomologist will be able to see it with his/her high powered microscope and may be able to offer an identification of the pest. You can contact an entomologist through your local cooperative extension office. You may also want to go to your doctor or dermatologist as some insects can infest your skin and will not be affected by insecticides applied in the home.

Here are the application instructions for Bed Bug Kit #3:

Bed Bug Kit #3 Application Instructions

For complete instructions, see our Step-by-Step Bed Bug Treatment PDF Guide: Five pages with pictures and information on how and where to use every product in your kit. A summary of each product’s use is included below.

    Kit Contents:

FenvaStar EcoCap (8 oz): FenvaStar EcoCap is a microencapsulated product containing Esfenvalerate (3.5%). Featuring the EcoCap technology FenvaStar EcoCap is made using a renewable vegetable oil instead of petroleum resulting in almost no odor and no VOCs. This enviromentally responsible pest control product will still quickly knockdown bed bugs. Shake well before diluting. Use 1-2 ounces of concentrate per gallon of water in a hand pump sprayer (not included). Apply Fenvastar EcoCap as a spot treatment to potential harborage sites and migration paths, and cracks and crevices, around baseboards, floorboards, headboards, and walls.

***Do NOT apply to furniture surfaces or mattresses where people will be laying or sitting. Infested bedding should not be treated with insecticides, but should be removed, placed in sealed plastic bags, and taken for laundering and drying at high temperatures.***

Steri-Fab: Steri-Fab is an alcohol based product that will evaporate after 10-20 minutes and leave no residual effect. Steri-Fab may be sprayed on almost any surface including those sensitive areas that you were not able to treat with other products (mattresses, sofas, bedding, dog beds, etc.). This product is one of the only products that recent research shows will kill bedbug eggs. Application: Spray in areas of bedbug activity, such as tufts and folds of mattresses, sofas, etc. (Steri-Fab must come in direct contact with bedbugs and bedbug eggs to be effective).

Cimexa Dust for Bed Bugs (4 oz. bottle): Dusts are great for applying under baseboards around the room (this stops bedbugs from fleeing the room and spreading to other areas), for dusting on and inside the box spring itself, and for dusting in cracks and crevices where liquids may not go (such as in and behind picture frames, underneath furniture, in the cracks of dresser drawers, and in the joints, cracks and hollow tubing of bed frames, etc.). Dust is best applied with the hand duster that is included with your kit. Apply in a fine coating on surfaces, and do not over-dust.  Leaving piles of dust will just cause the insect to walk around the dust and not through it.

Bellows Hand Duster: The bellows hand duster included with this kit should be used to apply the dust to any cracks and crevices needed. By using the bellows hand duster you will be able to apply the correct amount of dust in the correct place.

4 Cans Bedlam (17 oz each): Bedlam comes in a convenient aerosol spray that may be sprayed on areas that other products cannot. Bedlam may be used for spot treatments on mattresses, upholstered furniture, drawers, bed frames, carpeted areas, curtains...You may also use Bedlam to knock down fleeing bedbugs after initial treatment of other insecticides. Includes a straw tool for spraying into small cracks, crevices and other hiding places. Always shake well before use.
Also be sure to go to the kit page on our website as we also have an instructional video.

Does the Bed Bug kit kill all of the bed bugs and are they found in Kenya?
    A
The Bed Bug Kit #3 does control the bedbugs and when used appropriately will eliminate all of the bedbugs that someone has in their home and rooms. We are unsure if bedbugs are found in Kenya but it is possible since the pests is a hitch hiking insect with travelers. We unfortunately do not ship internationally at this time.

    Q
Is it necessary to treat the kitchen with the Bedbug Kit #3 for bedbugs?
    A
It is not necessary to treat the kitchen or bathrooms for bedbugs as they are not prevalent in those areas. However, you could apply the FenvaStar Eco Cap (liquid concentrate included in the Bedbug Kit#3) along the baseboards as precaution and for treatment of other household insects.

    Q
Does the Bed Bug Kit #3 cover a 2 to 4 bedroom house or 2 to 4 bedroom apartment?
You don't say much about treating furniture, dressers and other furniture where they hide and breed. I've treated with other products including every crack, hole, air space, etc in this miserable rental I just can't seem to get completely rid of them and don't know what I'm doing wrong. Tried a professional exterminator without success. Successfully stopped them for a brief time, but they are back within a couple days. I have shag carpeting and been treating the carpet also. I've learned that bed bugs quickly take over homes, whatever rooms people are in. Is this true?
    A

Bed Bug Kit #3 is to treat 2 to 4 bedrooms(only) but not a 2 to 4 bedroom house/unit - although the solution can possibly cover all that when spraying baseboards, cracks and crevices. In our guide we do show areas that need to be treated, like in our inspection guide. You are correct about the possibility of them spreading though out the house since they travel in objects, clothing, and shoes. You can air out the room by opening the bedroom doors and possibly the windows if the temperatures allow it. This will allow the room to air out and sprayed areas to dry.

Bed Bugs require a combination of products along with repeat treatments every 7 days until no bed bugs or bites have been observed for 30 days. This means that if you’ve gone 24 days without seeing any signs but then see bed bug activity, start the treatment process over again.

Please view the step by step instructions in our Bed Bug Treatment Guide for a successful treatment program.

    Q
Will it affect people with asthma to breath in the products
Is it toxic to humans with asthma to breath in the fumes from the chemical
    A
Since different people can have varying reactions to the same chemical there is no way for us to be able to say for sure that any one person will not have a reaction to a specific insecticide. Be sure the person with asthma is out of the area while the product is being applied and they can come back when the area is completely dry. You may also want to contact the asthmatic persons physician prior to the application just to be sure there will be no issues.

What can I spray on my luggage when I travel to avoid and kill bedbugs from the Bed Bug Kit #3?
    A

The Bedlam Aerosol in the BedBug Kit #3 can be used as a residual product to spray along wheels, cracks and crevices, zippers, etc of luggage to help protect against bedbugs. You would want to give your luggage at least a day or two to dry before placing clothing inside.

    Q
Can bed bugs be transferred from an appliance?
I am getting a free, running appliance (dryer) from a family friend. Unfortunately, we are almost sure that they have bed bugs. Could bed bugs live in that dryer? And could they become a problem for us if we use the dryer?
    A

Unfortunantly, Bed bugs can be transferred by appliances including a dryer. We would not recommend to accept appliances from someone that has had bed bugs. Please also see out Bed Bug Guide.

    Q
Can the products in Bed Bug Kit #3 be applied over 3 consecutive days if I don't have time to apply everything on the same day?
I was wondering if it's ok to do each step on 3 consecutive days or if it's better to do it all in one day? I read that each step you have to make sure the stuff is dry. By the time I get home from work, it doesn't leave me much time. But I want to make sure I do the process correctly.
    A

Yes, if your schedule is tight, you can spread out your bed bug treatment, including with Bed Bug Kit #3, into 3 consecutive days. The important thing is to be as thorough as possible and treat all rooms with bed bug activity. We recommend reading over our Bed Bug Treatment Guide for further tips and information.

    Q
Do any of the Bed Bug Kit 3 chemicals damage laminate flooring since some of the products are liquids?
    A

None of the products in Bed Bug Kit #3 will harm laminate flooring if water itself will not harm it. Keep in mind these are for cracks and crevices and should not be sprayed across open floor areas. The sections of wall and floor adjacent to baseboards where you treat will not be harmed if the product gets on those areas as you spray as long as you are using the products according to label instructions.

    Q
How often to I reapply the insecticides in Bed Bug Kit #3?
    A

In Bed Bug Kit #3 FenvaStar EcoCap and Bedlam should be applied every 7-10 days days until no one is getting bitten and there is no further evidence such as live bugs, cast skins or fresh blood spots found. You are able to use Sterifab as frequently as needed to kill live bugs on contact. The CimeXa dust in the kit remains effective as long as it is undisturbed and dry.

    Q
Is it normal to see bed bugs or be bitten after the first treatment? I am using Bed Bug Kit #3.
I have completed my first treatment. Today I was bitten and I found one bed bug in the room that was really infested. Is this normal? Should I still be seeing the bugs? When I do my second treatment, do I have to go through same process and remove everything from the rooms?
    A

It is completely normal to see bed bugs after treating with Bed Bug Kit #3 (or any other products). It can take several treatments to eliminate all of the bed bugs, which is why we recommend repeating your treatments at specific intervals. It is very important that every room is thoroughly treated every time. Items that have been removed such as clothing, toys, etc. should not be placed back in the room(s) until after they are bed bug free.

    Bed bugs
How to get rid of them??
    A
We would recommend using Bed Bug Kit # 3. It is labeled to treat 2-4 rooms multiple times.
