    Can Bifen control Ghost Ants in my yard and vegetation area?
    I have Ghost ants problem in my yard and they enter the house through weep holes. Can Bifen L/P eliminate these ants from my vegetation and stop entering the house? Can I use a hand spreader? What product can I spray on vegetation plants so that ghost ants/Sugar ants do not walk on these plants? Thanks

    Bifen cannot be applied to a garden area under any circumstances.  It is a great product to apply in the yard and can be applied using any hand or push spreader, but it would have to be applied more than 10 feet away from any garden area.  For keeping ants out of a garden area, the only product labeled for this use would be a garden specific product such as our Fertilome Liquid Garden Spray which would help deter the ants from walking on your plants.

    Are Bifen Granules safe to use in a basement (dirt floor) and crawl space? Concerned about toxic vapors.

    Bifen Granules would not be recommended for any type of indoor use because the granules must be watered in, something that could not or should not be done in a basement. You can use something like Bifen IT to spray indoors on a dirt floor in a basement or in a crawl space. It does not need to be watered in. Bifen IT is very safe to use indoors when used as directed on the product label.

    Can I use Bifen Granules if I have a dug well?
    My drinking water comes from a dug well and I would like to know if it is safe to use the Bifen Granules

    The product label for Bifen Granules does not say anything about use near a well, but we would suggest not applying granules within 20 feet of the well just to be safe.  Also, if your land slopes towards the well you should not apply granules on the slope in case a hard rain causes the granules to move with the water towards the well.

    Will Bifen Granules also kill spiders or do I need the Spider Kit you sell?
    I am wanting to keep all of the pesky bugs out of the house. Do I have to buy both the Bifen Granules and the Spider Kit or will just the Bifen Granules do the trick?

    Bifen granules are not labeled for spider control. This could be because the manufacturer did not test the product for this particular pest or they did test it and did not find the Bifen Granules to be very effective for spiders. The Spider Control Kit was put together for people who want to treat indoors and outdoors, the glueboards in the kit can be used in closets, under the sink or in other areas where spiders may harbor and they will help you monitor any infestation. If you only want to treat outdoors for spiders you can purchase the Cyper WP separately instead of purchasing the kit.

    Can I broadcast Bifen Granules in a garden to control fire ants without affecting the produce?
    Fire ants destroyed our potato crop last year, and I'm looking for products to keep ants out of the garden.

    You cannot use Bifen granules in a vegetable garden. You can place Bifen granules around the outside of the garden to ward off crawling insects. You can also use Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait around the outside of the vegetable garden to help control the fire ants.

    Can Bifen L/P granules be used to control mosquitoes and mosquito larvae?
    A

    No, Bifen LP would not be effective for mosquito control. The adult mosquitoes actually hang out in trees and bushes and the larva develop in standing water. Bifen LP granules can only be used to treat lawns and soil for insect infestation. You can use Bifen IT which is the liquid formulation of Bifen to treat for adult mosquitoes. Mosquito larva can be eliminated with BTI Mosquito Dunks which can be placed directly into water sources such as ponds, unused pools and other areas of standing water.

    I believe I have springtails in my home. They are very small, pale or black. How can I get rid of spring tails?
    Tried to kill the bugs. They are around almost all of the windows in my home. I also find them on the air conditioners. Several websites mention Bifen granules to kill them. Is there an effective spray that I can use to kill them? It must be something strong. I have already tried bleach and some pest control sprays that I found at Home Depot. Please let me know if you can help.

    Spring tails can be tough to eliminate because they reproduce very quickly. In almost every case where people have spring tails, they also have a moisture problem such as a leaking or sweating pipe, poor ventilation in their crawl space, lots of wet mulch right up next to their house, etc. You must locate and correct the moisture problem to get rid of the spring tails, insecticides alone will not do the job. We do carry Bifen L/P granules and Bifen IT liquid, both of which can help you to reduce the numbers of springtails.

    Will Bifen Granules get rid of millipedes?
    A
    Yes, Bifen Granules are labeled for millipedes as well as many other insects that are in your yard.  For millipedes you can spread 2.3 - 4.6 lbs per 1000 square feet.  For full instructions and a list of all the insects that the granules treat, you can read the product label.

    Will DeltaGard G Granules kill Harvest Mite Larvae (chiggers) in my yard?
    What is the appropriate schedule to apply the treatment to kill chiggers? Also I have a raised ornamental fish pond which is on a patio about 6 feet away from the lawn. Would Bifen Granules be safe for my fish if the granules do not come in contact with the water?

    Bifen granules are not labeled to treat chiggers. The only granule we carry that has chiggers on the label is DeltaGard G Granules.  DeltaGard G Granules come in a 20 lb bag and treatment for chiggers requires 2-3lbs per 1000 square feet.  However, any type of insecticide, liquid or granule, is very toxic to fish.  We would not recommend applying any type of product near a fish pond.  Even run off from the surface where you apply a product can be extremely deadly to fish.

    Label says nothing about roaches. Does it work for the American Cockroach?

    We are not sure why this product does not have roaches on the label, but it is the same product as Talstar PL Granules, and roaches are listed on the Talstar granule product label.

    Will the Bifen Granules treat springtails in the whole lawn?
    Will my lawn be safe for kids to run and play on couple days after the application?

    Bifen Granules recently had a product label change and the new label no longer lists springtails as a target pest. We recommend Demand G Granules to control springtails and they can be used as a perimeter application or over your entire lawn. Children can safely return to the treated area after it is completely dry.
