    Q
Is it safe to spray Bifen IT on my new seeded grass that just started germinating?
    A

Bifen IT is just an insecticide, so it will not harm the grass or other desirable plants. The only concern we would have is if you have newly germinating grass then you want to be careful not to put too much stress walking over it or pulling a sprayer over it.

    Q
I've been using Bifen for ants, but still have earwigs and silverfish, what should I use for those?
I already put Dekko in the attic where I found silverfish. But I don't know where those earwigs come from?? It's not much, just a few, but I don't want them to hurt my paralyzed dog.
    A
That's awesome Bifen IT has been doing such a great job for you. To treat the Earwigs, please refer to our article Getting Rid of Earwigs. There are many steps you can take to treat and prevent earwigs and Silverfish. By following the steps in our article you will also help to eliminate the Silverfish as well. You also may want to try a residual spray like Demon WP that is labeled for earwigs and silver fish. You want to spray the entire perimeter indoors and out.

    Q
Can I use Bifen IT in an electrostatic sprayer? If so, how much should I mix with water?
    A

Bifen IT can be applied in a hand pump sprayer, backpack sprayer and mist blower. We recommend contacting the manufacturer of the sprayer for recommended products to be used with your equipment. Most applications are applied at 0.5 – 1 fl oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. Please refer to the product label for full application and mixing instructions for the targeted pest.

    Q
I have used Bifen IT on the lawn for mites, but I am unsure how much to water after application.
    A
According to the product label, you should use Bifen IT with a surfactant such as DyneAmic to control mites in the lawn. The product label also recommends irrigating the lawn with .25 inch of water after the application for lawn infesting insects.

    Q
Why is Bifen IT so much cheaper than Cy-kick CS? Aren't they both the same thing?
Which one is best for outdoors?
    A
No, they are not the same. Bifen It is a generic form of Talstar P and contains the active ingredient bifenthrin. Bifen IT is great for indoor/outdoor general pest control and is very safe to use around pets and people, non irritating to the skin, will not stain, is odorless, and stands up well to rainfall. Talstar P is the product of choice for mosquito control too.  Cy-Kick CS is a micro encapsulated product that contains Cyfluthrin. Cy Kick-CS is known to be super effective for those hard to kill insects such as spiders and scorpions and it will last a bit longer outdoors.

    Q
Is Bifen IT recommended for springtails? If not, which product is best for this pest?
Spring tails mostly appear around baseboards. Home is on a slab. Would Delta dust be more effective?
    A
Spring tails can be tough to eliminate because they reproduce very quickly. In almost every case where people have spring tails they also have a moisture problem such as a leaking or sweating pipe, poor ventilation in their crawl space, lots of wet mulch right up next to their house, etc. You must locate and correct the moisture problem to get rid of the spring tails, insecticides alone will not do the job. We do carry Bifen L/P granules and Bifen IT liquid, both of which can help you to reduce the numbers of springtails.

    Q
How much Bifen I/T do i put in a gallon of water for outside fire ants?
last year we had a bad heat wave here in texas in which we we're limit to water restrictions here...so killing my grass bringing nickle size ant mounds all over my front yard (only)
    A
According to the Bifen IT product label: Fire Ant control is optimized by combining broadcast applications that will control foraging workers and newly mated fly-in queens with mound drenches that will control existing colonies. If the soil is not moist, then it is important to irrigate before application or use a high volume of water for the application. Apply broadcast treatments at 0.5 to 1 fluid oz. per 1,000 square feet. You can dilute the recommended amount of Bifen IT in 1-5 gallons of water. Use enough water to penetrate thatch or sod. Treat mounds by applying 1 oz Bifen IT Professional per mound in 1 to 2 gallons water by sprinkling the mound until it is wet and treat 3 feet out around the mound. Use the higher volume for mounds larger than 12”. It is recommended that you use a broom handle to poke down through the center of the mound to allow the solution to penetrate. For best results, apply in cool weather (65 - 80˚F) or in early morning or late evening hours
