Yes, Bifen IT is labeled to treat for wasps, but it is not an instant knockdown. Bifen IT will kill wasps that it comes in contact with it. Retreat after 21 days if signs of renewed activity exist. You may want to consider our Wasp and Hornet Kit which contains the residual insecticide Cyzmic CS, plus Wasp-X to kill insects very quickly when you locate nests.
There is no waiting period to apply Bifen IT after aeration or seeding.
We really haven't had anyone with this particular issue in the past but we do have an idea of what might be happening. Moles eat insects. They have to eat a lot of insects every day and have huge appetites. We think it is possible that the Bifen IT has killed their food source and they are searching all over for more food. Once they realize there is no food to be had they should move on quickly. You can also try trapping or baiting if they are not moving on fast enough for you. You may also want to look over our mole control guide for more information.
Bifen IT is safe to use around livestock premises as long as the animals are NOT grazing in the treated areas. After the application, you need to wait until the area is completely dry before letting the animals back onto the treated areas.
Bifen IT is labeled to treat active infestations inside as directed on the product label but would only kill those termites that actively make contact with a treated surface or are sprayed directly. If you are dealing with subterranean termites, you want to use a product that has a "tranfer-kill" effect. Termidor SC is a great product to use to treat termites and prevention, or Termidor Foam for active only, both of which are non repellent and transfer back to the colony below ground. Please see our Termite Control Page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and find information on identification and treatment for termites.
Yes, Bifen IT can be used with a hose-end sprayer.
Bifen IT is not recommended for bedbug control. We normally recommend one of our Bedbug Kits as they contain all of the necessary products for a complete bed bug treatment. Please take a moment to look over our Bed Bug Guide for more information on how to implement a successful bed bug treatment program.
According to the manufacturer, Bifen IT is equivalant to spraying plain water as it dries clear and doesn’t stain. The residual outdoors is 30 days so any white film would fade over time.
Typically mosquitoes are not going to harbor in the lawn where the Bayer granules were placed. They are usually found in bushes and dense foliage areas. You can safely spray all bushes/hedges/ground covers and any areas you feel mosquitoes may be present on a monthly basis with Bifen I/T.
Yes, Bifen IT is an excellent option for boxelder bugs. Be sure to spray around the perimeter of the home, around windows, doors, etc. where the bugs could get indoors. You should treat once a month until the first frost. This product can also be used indoors around the perimeter of your home. The mixing ratio is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.
Bifen IT is not labeled for beneficial insects like butterflies. However, it is not really selective so it has the potential to kill them if they come in contact with a treated area. To avoid contacting beneficial insects, apply in the early morning or late evening when they are less active in the area. We would also recommend avoiding application to blooms to limit contact. A better option would be to use Mavrik Perimeter. There is no lingering odor or visible residue, and when dry, it is non toxic and non repellent to honey bees. We would still recommned you apply in the early morning or late evening when they are less active in the area
