I've been using Bifen for years to control lawn insects and to keep spiders and bugs out of the house. Every Summer spittlebugs want to munch on the turf grass so I would apply Bifen and problem solved. Spraying the backyard shrubs and perimeter would keep mosquitoes away and spraying the perimeter of the house helped control spiders and various bugs out of the house.

Just applied bifen on my property, about an acre. Took about 2 1/2 hours. Next morning no mosquttoes present. Tried Bifen because ticks were on dogs and in turn ticks were jumping on humans. so far Bifen is working. Sprayed the home 2 ft. up and 2 ft. out. Terminated my pest control service also.

Don't use on crepe Myrtles

This product, while great for insect control, will kill the mites that are naturally on crepe myrtles and help the tree to thrive. After application, the crepe myrtle bark will turn black. The bark must be scrubbed to remove the product and save the tree.

Finally a solution

We had a major infestation of ants I was completely unfamiliar with. Red heads and black bodies. I contacted DoMyOwnPestControl who, in turn, contacted an entimologist who identified the ants as 'Alleganie Mound Ants'. Following the instructions on how to mix the Bifen IT with water, I drenched the mound in the evening and in the morning the mound was dead. Thank YOU DMOPC for the help. This is a great product.

Very effective product for use inside and outside the home. It lasts for months after applied and we have no insect problems whatsoever. Not only is the product effective but it is extremely cost effective as compared to products sold at retail outlets or recurring bug service contracts by extermination companies. As a side note, the area we live had a regional outbreak of army worms (which can destroy a turf grass lawn overnight). I was able to treat and irradiated the infestation from my yard, my 3 children's properties and also my neighbors property for which has has been very grateful. I had not anticipated this problem at the time I bought the product, but was glad I had it on hand…a gallon diluted per instructions makes dozens of gallons of solution. I highly recommend this product.

Not very effective

We have ticks and mosquitos that I've been treating with Cutter Bug Free Backyard hose end spray but at a cost of $40 every month, I decided to give this a try based on the reviews. Product was easy to use and apply with a new sprayer I purchased. I applied according to instructions on the bottle but three days later, we still had lots of mosquitos so I did a second application. I was sure to spray turf, bushes, undersides of leaves, mulch, etc. I even sprayed into my neighbors' yards. The second application worked better, but we are still seeing more mosquitos than when I used the Cutter product. I'm not giving up though and purchased another bottle and will try again soon.

The best stuff!

This stuff is the bomb! Bought a few years ago for mosquitoes after trying all the name brand things from the big box stores that don't work. Sprayed all around the house including 3 ft. up walls ( as it suggests), on and under bushes, shaded areas, turf and trees. Also can be sprayed inside so I lightly sprayed it around baseboards and in closets. By the next day the difference was amazing! Very few mosquitoes as well as a serious reduction in flies, ants, gnats, spiders, etc. Apparently it is mostly used for termites but seems to kill or keep away just about everything. Safe for kids and pets after it dries and leaves no milky film or residue when dry. It also comes in an oil based version that seems to work longer before needing to retreat but has a stronger odor. I use it away from the house in the trees and yard, although the smell is not that bad and gone in a few days. The product Talstar is the same thing but you pay more for the name brand, similar to buying Round Up when you can buy their active ingredient, glyphosate, for significantly less. We've told everyone we know about it and they all agree it works.
