    Q
How do I prevent cedar apple rust on apple trees?
    A

Cedar Apple Rust is a tricky disease because it requires two hosts in fairly close proximity. Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate is labeled to treat this disease. You generally want to treat in early Spring from bud break for a few weeks until galls are dry and inactive. In many areas where there is a lot of apply growth, Junipers within several miles of the apple orchards are removed to prevent disease. These articles have additional information about the life cycle of this disease and appropriate cultural practices:

  • Asked by Joe from Alfred, Me
    05/03/2018
    Q
Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate Application?
I just sprayed 20 apple trees with Bonide Fruit Tree Spray. I used a new sprayer with a 12 volt pump. My question is: I don't know if I cover EVERY bit of the tree. If I missed a spot (or area) does it affect only that area or does it affect the whole tree.
    A

Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate applications will only effect the areas it is applied to.  If insects contact a treated area and then more to an untreated area, as long as they spent enough time on the treated they will die.
