    Q
How much Bonide Poison Ivy & Brush Killer should be used to 1 gallon of water?
    A
For Northern Lawns you would mix 4 ounces per 1000 sq/ft and for Southern Lawns you would use 2 ounces per 1000 sq/ft. The amount of water you use is not important as that only acts as a carrier. The key is getting the right amount of product over the right amount of area, so whether you use 1 gallon or 5 gallons of water, they are both correct. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Will Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer kill poison ivy and not harm other plants like ivy?
    A
The Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer will harm ALL forms of ivy including ground ivy. You cannot select one from the other and we do not know of a product that will allow you to do this. We recommend hand pulling the poison ivy from the ground ivy with gloves on to try and eliminate it from your ground cover.

  • Asked by John from Gainesville, Fl

    Q
Does Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer work on air potato?
We have a bad problem with air potato (Dioscorea bulbifera) and nothing seems to work against it. I know a systemic herbicide is required, but this stuff is tougher than poison ivy to control. Does this product control air potato? If not, can you name a product that does?
    A
Bonide Poion Ivy and Brush Killer is not labeled to control air potato so we can not advise that it would kill it, just the manufacturer has either not tested against this plant or did and did not find it effective.  We were able to find a great article on how to treat air potato and believe that the Crossbow Specialty Herbicide might be a better choice.  Be sure to include a non-ionic surfactant for best results and that it can take multiple applications.

    Q
Can Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer BK-32 Concentrate be mixed with Permethrin?
I spray my yard with a combination of Permethrin and Biffenenthrin, to get rid of ticks. This year the Poison Ivy seems to be out if force as well, can I spray both the insecticide and herbicide at the same time in the same sprayer?
    A

We do not recommend combining Permethrin and Bifenthrin for insect cotrol. For flea treatments, we would recommend one of them added to an inect growth regulator (IGR) such as Archer IGR. We recommend that you apply the Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer BK-32 Concentrate separately or perform a jar test and test a small inconspicous area first.
