    Q
Can you spot treat just the crabgrass with Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate in Zoysia lawn?
    A

Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate is applied at 5.5 oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft for warm season turf. Bonide Sedge Ender could harm desirable plants in beds, so it states on the label not to apply directly to landscape ornamentals or ornamental beds.  It should be used to spot treat only as needed in these areas.  Care should be taken to avoid spray or drift to these plants. Keep in mind that his product controls crabgrass and goosegrass when applied postemergent to newly emerged weeds in the 1-4 leaf stage of development; it will not control mature crabgrass.

  • Asked by Larry from Eudora, Kansas
    09/22/2019
    Q
I've used the Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate twice now with no results. What am I doing wrong?
I've used the 2.75 ounces per gallon of water in a pump up sprayer but it hasn't fazed the crabgrass that I'm trying to get rid of. Can I use up to the 5.5 ounces per gallon or am I going to kill my lawn?
    A

The Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate label states your first application should be 2.75 ounces per 1000 sq ft, followed with a second application 30-60 days later at the same rates.  If sequential applications are needed, they can be made 30-60 days later, but not to exceed 8.25 ounces per 1000 sq ft per calendar year.  You should not increase your rate, as it can damage your desired turf. Crabgrass is best treated at the youngest most immature stages, or the latest most mature stages.  Additionally, be sure it is truly crabgrass you’re treating for.  There are a few grassy weeds that look almost identical to crabgrass, except for very subtle differences.

  • Asked by L.p. from Orange City, Fl

    Q
Can Sedge Ender Concentrate kill the Bermuda grass and not my St Augustine?
I have Bermuda grass mixed in with my St. Augustine grass.
    A

Bermuda grass is so closely related to St. Augustine grass that there is nothing that will remove Bermuda from St. Augustine and not hurt the St Augustine as well.  In your situation it is recommended to spot treat the Bermuda with a non-selective glyphosate product and kill it directly, and then replant St. Augustine in those areas. Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate is safe to use on both St. Augustine and Bermuda turf.

  • Asked by Jim from Fort Worth
    08/14/2018
    Q
How long does the pre-emergent last in Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate?
    A

Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate contains both a pre-emergent herbicide (Prodiamine) and a post-emergent herbicide (Sulfentrazone). Post-emergent would need to be reapplied if you have renewed weed growth. The pre-emergent will last up to 60-90 days depending on the rate used and rainfall in your area. Per the product label: In areas of extended growing season and heavy pressure weed control will be enhanced by second application of this product 60-90 days after initial application. Be sure to follow the label directions for rates depending on the type of turfgrass you have.

    Q
How long for nutsedge to die when treated with Bonide Sedge Ender?
my lawn has nutsedge and mouse ear chickweed. i spot treated the weeds with bonide sedge ender. how long does it take for the weeds to die?
    A

Whether using the Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate, or other sedge products on the market, it typically takes about 3-6 weeks to see nutsedge die completely, and in some instances with purple nutsedge or well established plants, a second application after 4-6 weeks may be needed to see complete control. In some cases customers can see plant death before this point, but each situation will vary. The chickweed will likely take 1-2 weeks to see results.
